She's worth 45 million bucks and been dating John Cougar Mellancamp for years. She has a child. Maybe she just decided to give it up and do her own thing. Who needs to work when you're worth that much?
Rick Morranis did something similar. His career was doing great. He got out of acting and focused on family. And he's worth far less than Meg Ryan is. He was vocal about leaving acting while Ryan has been silent. That could indicate she plans on returning one day. -

I really miss her too!!! She is a fantastic actress! I love her comic and romantic films!!! Where is she now??' She should come back and make films!!!!!
I haven seen some recent pictures of her and her face has changed a lot!!! I hate plastic surgery!! I hope this is not the reason why no director gives her a great role to play!! I hope to see her on screen soon!!!! -

I have a few relatives who work in the film industry and word is it was probably due to her hideous plastic surgery. It ruined her iconic look. Remember she has done just a much dramatic stuff as the cute ones. The thing is Hollywood is brutal and cares for no one.
Just my opinion but as up and coming doctor starting here medical residency tho I'm going into Orthopedics my fiance is in his 4th year of med school. But I wanna make a comment about these reconstructive surgeons. There's a known fact in medical school that most plastic or reconstructive surgeons or the wannabe ones?
Only a very tiny minority are those who truly want to help with birth defects, disfigurement or burn victims etc. Many are the very bottom ( like C students for the lay person) of the class students who just have dollar signs on the brain and many do NOT pass the selection or interview process thankfully.
But those who do struggle thru always have a big surprise when reality hits em that like lawyers, doctors especially those in reconstructive surgery etc. Are a dime a dozen and most don't make hundreds of thousands much less millions (the majority of us don't in fact) can't get jobs in their field much less private practice. Real life is NOT like you see on TV.
My point is she or most of these people do NOT need surgery of this type and they ruin their looks imho those who do have an ego or self esteem problem. The technology to 16d0me is NOT there yet. Its why nearly everyone who has done it looks the same a swollen lipped version of Batman/Nickelsons (sp) Joker they all have that similar look. Again very sadAs Meg had a great look and would have aged gracefully and no she looks like a vampire or very creepy looking. Like most who have done it.
Well she had her prime and again like I said the media aka music and film industry has a very very short memory and nothing lasts forever. All they see is money. Yup very sad world or country we live in ATM.
