I agree! Just watched it and I don't get why people say she was a bitch. Usually actors know what is going to be discussed during an interview and clearly Meg was caught off guard. I wouldn't blame here. Not sure what Parkinson was thinking, or obviously he wasn't!

No way. I saw the whole interview, and she was rude right from the beginning. Look at the way she reacted when he asked if she had any interest in Fashion (which was what the guests were discussing previously). She reacted as if he was an idiot for asking her. I don't blame him for getting tough with her snarky little ass.

This board does a good job of separating Americans who are obsessive fans of Meg Ryan and can't see what is staring them in the face, and the rest of the world. Meg Ryan's light burned fairly dimly from the start and, when she lost that 'cute girl next door' image her career understandably collapsed .Little wonder she was so rude.
AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER FACE?! -

Um, she was rude waaay before they even got to her film. Watch what happens when he asks her about fashion(which is the topic the other guests were on previously). She was acted pretty snarky, and I'm glad he didn't suck up to her.

He didn't bully, he REACTED to poor treatment by his own guest on the show. When you're a guest on someone's show, you don't come out with an attitude or you might piss somebody off. Parkinson got pissed because she was being a pill.

Because he allowed himself to get pissed when he probably wished that he had remained nice so that everybody would see how terrible she was acting and not lift the last section of the interview out of context and try to make him look bad.
Its the same as if someone punches you in the face, and then you hit them back. You could have just let them punch you and then call the cops later(which will look better for your case)but most people who have any backbone will hit back. -

'You don't beep with Parky. Meg Ryan did, and wrecked her reputation in the UK.'
You said it right there.
Too many people start this thread and make Parky out to be a rude bully. Meg was in no frame of mind for that interview, not sure what the reason was and Parky was left with a rude, uncooperative guest for his Saturday night time show.
Its that man again!! -

You act like the guy's a national treasure or something, speaking as a resident of the UK, from what I've seen the bloke's few remaining fans are of the older generations who share his archaic, sexist views on women and sexuality in general. He was a complete dick in that interview and came off as old fashioned and at times downright creepy, much like he did in the infamous Helen Mirren interview in which he repeatedly objectified and demeaned her. Granted, Helen handled it much better than Meg did and pretty much schooled Parky with her subtle wit and impenetrable class, but that doesn't change the fact that he was an ass to both guests.

Parkinson was one of those weird institution type things, I think. Because he was of the beeb and probably started out when there were like 2 channels. Basically anyone on telly in the 70s was famous forever. I never cared for him. Bumbling sycophantic idiot.
