Remember when Polaroid cameras were a novelty? We've definitely come a long way since then, and not for the better in my opinion.

I agree with you, so much! Whether it's people recording a concert (and not enjoying the moment while they're there) or when a crime unfolds, peoples' first instinct these days is to whip out their phone and record what's going on instead of being present and maybe jump in to help. I often leave my phone at home when I go out, so it is hard for me to relate to how fixated some are with their need to be so attached to their phones, often at the expense of personal engagement.
I've been to restaurants and seen people sitting around a table, and they're all on their phones instead of talking with the people already there. I really don't get it.

I really think that Smart phone addiction is a real thing. Some children have their own phones at 8-10 years old. It's gotta have a lasting effect on ones attention span.
I've also seen people glued to their phones in restaurants. Sad isn't it? I would get up, and leave if I was dining with someone who was doing that.

Yep. Again, I agree with you. I also think that social media has added to peoples' thirst for instant gratification. There's no longer any need to develop patience. Aren't there children that are referred to as I-Pad Babies or something? I think some busy moms are just giving their children I-Pads to entertain themselves when they can't or don't want to spend time with them. Sometimes the mom is too busy on her own devices.
If I'm going out, my phone stays tucked away and I don't answer texts or calls when I'm spending time with someone. When people keep their phones out on the table it sends a clear message that they don't feel like you're worth their utmost attention for this period of time. Unless you're a doctor on call, I don't understand what's so hard about putting your phone away for a little while. It's sad.

Using that device as an intermediary allows them to not have to interact directly with the real world. For them, it solves a problem.

The comedy was tame, but the observation profound.

Totally agree. I've watched many of his shows and when he's given the time and freer rein, he could put on some of the most intense, and highly frenetic, shows out there. This was definitely a tamer version of him.

The best comics use their platform to get you thinking. That's why the left have no stars. They have no truths they can reveal.

They used to at least say the laws were handed down by God.
Now no one even cares as humans worship celebrity, illusions and The State.
Soon everyone will worship a metal box, at which point we can do away with the priest class altogether.
But it's always been some guy in that box

The problem is the de-evolution of the species as more and more stupid people reproduce. The internet gives these people the illusion that they know and understand what's going on. Indoctrination has never been easier.
Imagine a person of Kirk's or Warren's intellect ever even engaging in politics a generation ago.

It doesn't matter how smart a person is if they have been programmed with garbage software.
It's like when you create a truth table and your premise if False, all that follows is inverted. That's what happens to these minds. The "smarter" ones seem to be more susceptible and are even pushed to go deeper in this system.
