        Secret Honor
        and
        Tanner '88
, which he considers among his best, the later the most creative in his career.

MASH, Nashville, OC & Stiggs (Believe it or not, this was the first Altman film I seen). If you can find OC & Stiggs real cheap, check it out. It was actually a fun little 80's film.

I really dug 'short cuts', but there are still alot of his films that I haven't seen. Any reccomendations for me?
Bob Altman used to say that he loved every each of his films, good or bad, even the ones that he was very unhappy to make, like
            Pret-A-Porter
            or
            The Gingerbread Man
. But it looks like he was particularly proud of
            Short Cuts
, of course and many of his lesser-known films. Indeed two of his personal favorites were:
            Tanner '88
            Secret Honor
as the most creative works he had ever done.
and I agree with him. He was also quite fond of
            Cookie's Fortune
with which he said he attained something that he always wanted attain; a "spherical" film. It's a very very charming film for sure, also his very last one,
            A Prairie Home Companion
            a very very beautiful film.
A film totally forgotten but great one
            Health
. I don't know where you can find it, though.
            3 Women
            is a masterpiece.

              My favourites are
              McCabe & Mrs. Miller
              and
              Nashville
. Conventional choices but those two are the ones that made the biggest impact on me. The former is beyond breathtaking and the latterwell it starts out as a comedy and ends with tragedy and horror but it's filled with such warmth, wit and love that you actually get the sense of being in 1975. And as that advertisement that starts the film says, "24count'em 24 of the biggest stars in the world"
              I also love
              Brewster McCloud
              ,
              Images
              (which is so unfairly neglected),
              3 Women
              ,
              The Long Goodbye
              ,
              California Split
all his 70's films though I haven't seen
              Buffallo Bill
              ,
              Quintet
              and
              A Perfect Couple
              . Then
              Secret Honor
              ,
              Short Cuts
              ,
              Gosford Park
              and others.
A film totally forgotten but great oneHealth. I don't know where you can find it, though.
I want to see that one a lot. Maybe I'll catch it a revival next time I go to the US.

McCabe and Mrs Miller is my favorite. That film is just a work of art. Nashville is a masterpiece and 3 Women fascinates me.

Popeye is a strange and wondeful film. But my favorite is CALIFORNIA SPLIT.

Big fan of Brewster McCloud and The Long Goodbye. 3 Women also pretty good. Thought McCabe & Mrs Miller was just ok, and did not much care for Nashville at all.
