The movie started out wellthen Rosanna Arquette's character becomes the sexual slave of some of the men in this movie. Rosanna, WHEN did it get SO bad for youan actress with a great track record.decide to select a movie character like Marilyn. I'm sad for you
Very rarely do I stop a movie in the middle and take it out of the DVD player because it becomes so badyep..I did with this movie. -

You missed the point. The Divide wasn't supposed to be a feel good movie. It starts with a nuclear strike on New York City. If that doesn't set the tone, I don't know what you expected.
The movie was about how absolutely awful people can become when society collapses, there are no consequences for horrible behavior, and there's no more social pressure to be a decent person.
Notice how the men in the movie are completely respectful of RA's character and her daughter at first, even protective of them and willing to look out for them. And then as the days and weeks and months pass, and they're all stuck in that fallout shelter, bored out of their minds, frustrated, confused and angry, they start to devolve back to rule by physical strength, and the women have no choice but to go along voluntarily or be raped.2000
It's an often uncomfortable movie to watch, but it reflects reality for a lot of people on this planet. What do you think is going on in Syria right now?
Anyway it's not like the Arquette family are good actors or even decent people. Patricia Arquette played the title role in Medium for seven years, popularizing and legitimizing Alison Dubois, a con woman who preys on grieving people, charging them exorbitant fees by lying to them and claiming she can speak to their dead loved ones. Anyone who promotes a grief vampire like Dubois is a seriously messed up person, and she's supposed to be the best talent in the family.
