Could tolerate him!!!
Until they decided to match him up with seven of nine! It made it very hard to watch the last episodes of the last series of a show I had watched religiously from the start! St next gen was quality, ds9 wa5b4s $hit, so when voyeger came along I was made up! But those last episode's seemed rushed and unplanned!
I mean cmon! The whole series was him and captain J! Seven would never be interested in that tool!
And the vision quests!! Wharram!WWhaaaaaaa
Made me laugh hard every time!
But I still watch the show now on the syfy channel!
Definitely finished to early! -

Voyage was my favorite of all the Star Treks. I know that makes me unpopular in the Trek community, but there was something that I still can't put my finger on that drew me in. I agree that Robert Beltran wasn't the best actor on Voyager. I had always felt he phoned in his scenes! After reading his Bio, I chalked it up to a Shakespearean background. No Star Trek actor was as i16d0mmersed in Shakespeare as Jean-Luc Picard or Patrick Stewart on TNG, and it's amusing to me that Stewart never acted like Star Trek was beneath him. It is obvious he put in a stunning performance in each and every episode. Mr. Bertrand would have done well to adopt the same acting effort because Patrick Stewart's professional demeanor makes him arguably the finest Star Trek actor while Robert Beltram is perhaps the worst. Unfortunately, between him and Tim Russ (Lt. Tuvok), I think they dragged the entire series down so fans turn their nose up at Voyager, while putting TNG and DS:9 on a proverbial altar. I have seen all five ST series many times, but, Voyager is still my favorite with TNG a very close second. Are you aware all of the series have been on Netflix for years? I often go to sleep to one or the other in the background. My friends make fun of me when I tell them there is something calming to me about any of the ST series! Just need to add this, as bad as Robert Beltran is in Voyager, I don't think they can compare to the awful job Scott Bakula did as Captain Archer in Enterprise. I was and still am a fan of Bakula, so, to me, it's a head scratcher why he sucked in Enterprise possibly making it the worst of all the series and sadly ending Star Trek leaving a trail of heartbroken fans. Glad you posted here. It's nice to know I'm not the only person still involved in all things Star Trek!

Avery Brooks is an awarded Shaespearean actor, also. In 2007, he was, with the Shakespeare Theatre Company of Washington, awarded the William Shakespeare for Classical Theatre.
He played the title role in the Oedipus Plays, which traveled to the 2003 Athens Festival.
DS9 was my fave series, because it had an emotional complexity greater than the othersas so many characters weren't Federation members.
I never thought Beltran was given material worthy of him. So much depends on the writers.

I know what you're saying. I've been falling asleep to the Voyager DVD's for the last month now and I did the same thing last winter. And two winters before that.
