I talked to a friend of mine who works comic cons and 2 years ago Robert did the one in Michigan and she had a chance to sit down with Robert and they talked about everything. At that time he was not married but I know he has had a steady in his life for some time so more then likely they finally married. I can't confirm that he did but I can't see him wearing a wedding ring if he was still single.

Sorry to hear about all of that. To be honest, he doesn't really talk about his "profession" at family functions. In the whole seven seasons ST: Voyager was on the air, I don't think he ever once discussed the program unless someone else brought it up. I never even realized he had a fan club until I started sniffing around on Google. I probably won't discuss this with him, as he seems reticent to talk about his acting career. I will tell you that the behavior you've described seems unlike him I wonder if there was more to the story you weren't aware of?

I know people who have seen him at cons where he has hurt their feelings and tossed insults at them. Barb told me everything that was going on and I do believe her since I have known her for many years. What I can tell you and this info came from his agent at that time and I do not know if the agent is still the same one but he told Barb he was the one calling all over Europe trying to track Robert down because Robert was booking conventions behind his back and this is one of the things Barb was accused of. Barb does not have the money to call Europe for any reason and even if she did, she would never violate his pravacy in any way. There is obviously a lot or was a lot going on with your Uncle that you are not aware of. Robert was constantly critizing his cast and crew mates in interviews and at conventions not only here in the states but overseas. One of the cons I went to here at home, Bob Picardo, Ethank Phillips, Roxanne Dawson and Robby McNeill were some of the guests and one of the fans asked them about the latest interview where Robert went after his castmates and I can tell you they were quite upset over this. I know Bob said he was going to have a long talk with him when he got back. The fan said the article was not a nice one either. I've read some of these interviews and if I had been a castmate of his there would have been trouble. If you have a grief with someone then go to that person and talk privately, not bash them at cons and interviews. The only con I ever saw Robert at he was very nice to everyone but this was before all his problems started AND he refused to stay at the same hotel as the fans which had Joe Motes upset because he had to keep sending a car for him when he was needed and he also refused to do the dinner party with the other guests. When Voyager was on his character became a pretty boy and he was upset over this and it's understandable. Chakotay could have been fully developed but he had little to do or say and then when Jeri Ryan was added to the cast, the stories became all 7 OF 9 and this was not fair either. After season 3 the proble5b4ms started and he went after everyone and what happened with Barb came after season 4. I'm sorry but she nor anyone else who knows about this can forgive him. One of my friends in Michagan who works the comic cons there had the chance to talk to Robert and he told her he regrets his past actions but the damage is done and his career has suffered for it. I always liked the Chakotay character but after this mess and the way the cast was passed over for 7 of 9, I just could not watch the show anymore. You see your Uncle from a personal side but the fans see him from a public side and he is still acting up at cons from what I have heard fans say. Comic cons are different from a regular sci fi con and I want you to know when I saw Robert years back in Baltimore, I took some great shots of him (we had second row seats) in black an white and I still move those photos to this day. I have both sides to this man and he is only human but when you are a public figure you really need to watch what you say and do. Robert will always have fans out there so don't worry and I did see Manticure (think I spelled that right).
The charity benefit Robert used to hold, I was very surprised he was able to get some of his cast mates to attend this but they did it out of the goodness of their hearts plus it was for a worthy cause too and some people can put their feelings aside for this. Glad he was successful with this and I heard nothing but good rev16d0iews of these events.
Larry King made a statement back in the fall that celebs have 2 sides to them and they do not care how they treat people, even the people they work with. He has seen good and bad with both. -

ok. But why are you posting this on here?
Do you want his fans to think badly of him? If so you're going in the right direction.
However, I think it's unfair because he doesn't get the chance to tell his side of the story on here, unless he happens to stop by the forum.
I don't know what you think you'll gain from posting it on here. Do you want an apology? Well, honestly, if this is all true, I don't think you'll get one after all these years. He obviously doesn't feel like he's done anything wrong and therefore won't apologise.
Seriously, it's something you need to take up with him, not someone who may or may not be his nephew on the net.
Perhaps it was unfair. There's two sides to every story. True or not, apology owed or not, it's between him and the other woman. Not her, him, you, his nephew and any other person who happens to stop by here.
Here's my advice, let it go. It's been years, move on, live your life. Holding onto it this long is only harming you. If he's a jerk as you say, what goes around comes around and he'll get his. But you don't need to drive it there. Let him end up a lonely old man. It's of no concern to you what becomes of him. You tried, that's all you can do. His loss, is it not?
I've been through a similar situation with a rapper. I know how hard it is but there comes a time when you gotta let it go. The thing with my situation (which did involve death threats to me and my best friend) is that he has nobody, there's nobody to catch him when he falls and so we only step back. We are guilty of posting things on the internet, not because we want fans to give up on him but because some things need to be out there such as why they haven't seen an interview in over a year even though albums are released. I mean, we are entitled to walk away, given what we've been through, but I like the struggle.
Thing is, life's unfair. Life's a bitch, then you die. Oh well. -

people have asked what he is like so let them read some of the things actors due to people. too many fans out there think these people do no wrong. I don't want an apology from him but he owes one to Barb and she knows she will never get it. Robert may have a good side to him but he also has a nasty side and too many people have run into that nasty side at conventions. I just want his nephew to know what has happened

Well, firstly, prove the person you're talking to is his nephew. It is the net, people make things up all the time. Not saying he's not his nephew but how do you know for sure.
Secondly, if you don't want an apology, and the other lady knows she won't get one, what's the point?
If as many people as you say have seen the wrong side of him, it'll get out to the fans no matter what. Again, it's his loss. He's only ruining his own career because it's only a matter of time before no other actor wants to work with him.
I'm not sure what his nephew can do about it. I don't think he can hold him accountable, or if he even wants to since he wasn't involved in the first place. He only knows half the story which he got from you and not the lady that was abused.
Of course celebs have a nasty side. I think most people are aware of that. We all have a nasty streak, nobody is exempt. -

I agree with you that everyone has a nasty side and when fans ask for their experiences with any actor, bad and good needs to be posted. Too bad if you don't want to hear the bad, the story is true.
As far as this one poster saying he is Robert's nephew, I won't doubt him. How else would he know about Robert's brother being in a movie? Other people carry the name Beltran so it has to be a family member or a close friend to know this info. Other actors have been known to post on these boards under assumed names or they have a family member keep tabs on things. I know of at least 6 actors who do this on their own and I won't reveal who so the fans aren't afraid to express their feelings about something. They have as much right to have their saying as you and I do.
I do wish Robert the best and he is not the only actor to hurt his career by his actions. Keep in mind there are far more actors out there then there are jobs. When I was in high school I was in class with an actress from the original Dark Shadows. Sharon Smyth played little Sarah Collins and she left the acting world after many years for several reasons and has no regrets. That's a nasty field to be in most of the time. -

The thing is, I didn't see anyone ask for that. Only the info given. Is it true? I don't know. I really don't care but I'm inclined to think there's more to the story than has been posted. I think it's highly possible somebody did something wrong to get a reaction like that. Whether it was her or not, who knows? I think you need to know what was in his head when he did that before condeming him. Doesn't make it right but perhaps your friend isn't quite as innocent. One must be aware of all the facts before casting stones.

Well, as I saib68d I'm in a situation with a rapper. I post on his board so I know people do keep watch on these boards, since I do it myself. I also keep an eye on a board for a band. Now, why I'm saying this is because I clearly know these people, I can prove it over and over, yet there's always people who challenge me. My point is, you never know who is who on the net. You can never be certain. Sure, it sounds convincing and I believe it is his nephew but you never know for sure.

Oh, believe me, two of my brothers and a cousin are actors. One is a complete jerk, left a group of men, women and children in the middle of nowhere when their car brokedown. They had no water, they were days away from the nearest town. Off he went to get "help". After a few days of nothing, and a dead dog, someone comes along and helps them. Where's my brother? Sitting in the pub drunk, not a care in the world. Now, I would love to go post this on his imdb page, on the boards for all the movies and tv shows he's done, afterall, those people almost died because of him.
What would be my motive for that? So his little fans girls who annoy me find out what he's really like? What do I gain from that? Or would my motivation be an underlying issue with his mother? Honestly I think the motivation would be issues with his mother and therefore, I won't post it. If it needs to get out, then it'll be posted by one of the people he left to die by the side of the road. -

I don't know what his problems really are but once damage is done it's not that easy to repair. One person posted their experience with him when she was 3 and Robert is great with kids at cons, I've seen it but too many fans out there think these people have no faults and its time for them to hear about negative things plus positive things. I'm not trying to stop anyone from liking him, I think he is a very good actor and maybe he needs to spend more time in the theater which he does love. I've heard and read too many negative things about Robert in the past and I thought he has gotten his act together and in a way he has but someone posted a message that he really hurt a fan at a con not long ago and maybe its the mood he is in at the time but all celeb needs to watch their actions when in public. Fans do not forget. I wish the man well. Just looking up movie info on some actors, the general con discussion has several negative things being posted about Robert under other actors who have had things done to them. I'm just thankful that what happened with Barb didn't take place in public because it would have cleared the room.

Not just celebs. They are human. They're allowed to be in a foul mood from time to time. Same with everybody else. Can you walk down the street an5b4d not have someone be rude to you? I can't. It's the way society is going. You forgive them for it and move on. Nobody should be rude to anybody, but it happens and I'm certainly guilty of it.
All you can really hope is that he's aware he has issues and that he feels he needs to work on them. Nobody can change him, it's something he has to do himself. He has issues, we all do. He may need anger management or something, but it's like AA, you can't make them admit it, you can make them attend the meetings, you can't make them get help. -
warrior_princess7 — 19 years ago(February 03, 2007 02:20 AM)
oh great, As if it's not bad enough that you go on the Ville board and claim the band is evil, bunch of crap, now you copy Rockinstarshoppingqueen and stalk people on other boards.
Oh dear, you really need a life. -

He did stay in the same hotel at the Vulkon con. Alone. (believe me, I attended that convention too) I did also hear that he still has close friendships with his male cast members; has diners every few months.
I have the feeling after reading your messages that your only purpose of posting is to bash Robert. -
ejs7921 — 19 years ago(February 13, 2007 01:48 PM)
I was also at that con and I heard Joe talking to another team member about Robert staying at another hotel up the road since he had a girlfriend in with him. Joe Motes was kind of complaining about having to have transportation to the other hotel to keep Robert Happy. It's one thing when they don't have the room they use other hotels for guests and fans but Robert wanted time alone with his girlfriend and I was not the only fan who heard Joe say this.
