He did stay in the same hotel at the Vulkon con. Alone. (believe me, I attended that convention too) I did also hear that he still has close friendships with his male cast members; has diners every few months.
I have the feeling after reading your messages that your only purpose of posting is to bash Robert. -

I was also at that con and I heard Joe talking to another team member about Robert staying at another hotel up the road since he had a girlfriend in with him. Joe Motes was kind of complaining about having to have transportation to the other hotel to keep Robert Happy. It's one thing when they don't have the room they use other hotels for guests and fans but Robert wanted time alone with his girlfriend and I was not the only fan who heard Joe say this.

No he stayed at the same hotel. Alone. Period. A few Trekkies, who attended the convention stayed at the same floor where he also stayed. Ok, he was a no-show at the banquet, and some people were upset, but everyone has the right to have some private time. He could have been really exhausted, nobody knows the real reason why he was a no-show. Ethan Phillips also didn't show for the banquet, but I don't hear you complain about him. And how about LeVar Burton? He was absent too. Who cares what Robert did or didn't or where he stayed or didn't stay. In his spare time, during the evenings, he mingled a lot with fans and not ever he was in a bad mood. He had a smile and a chat for everyone. You are only here to spread slander about someone who is not able to defend himself. Luckily nobody believes you. Since you write in some of your other posts that you no longer attend any conventions, why did you attend this Vulkon convention? And why do you also slander other actors and actresses over futilities on other forums? You have serious issues. Show some respect for another human being and you will receive some respect in return. We don't need to know why you come here to spit your venom, so please keep your opinions to yourself. They're nothing but opinions. Go get a life. We don't need you.

Here is a report from someone who was also at the convention. Someone who really enjoyed Beltran and other guests. And.. she saw him checking in the hotel.

The con was great, had a blast! I tend to ramble so forgive me if this is way more information than you want. WARNING! I'm just repeating the star's words but there is some bad language here.
Friday evening my sister and I were sitting in the lobby when Beltran checked in. She, who is way more conservative than me and had no idea who he was til this weekend, instantly 'fell in love' and quietly said 'nice butt'. I nearly fell off the chair. Half my fun this weekend came from watching her reactions. We were surrounded by Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons by the dozens, a Borg (excellent costume!), Neelix, Starfleet uniforms from every series, along with Star Wars storm troopers and all the main characters, stargate characters and Lord of The Rings characters.
There was a brief meet & greet that night with only Picardo and Beltran. They were only on stage for a few minutes and Picardo did most of the talking/joking.
Saturday morning there were autograph sessions and I was in line for Ethan Phillips when Beltran showed up an hour and 15 minutes late. Picardo was making jokes about it, one being that by the time Beltran showed up our bonds would've matured.
The group shot was fun, although because of Beltran being late for the autograph session immediately preceeding it, we were rushed. When it was my turn, Larry, Curly and Mo were
being goofy so I stood to the side with my arms crossed in classic Janeway style til they settled down. Then there was some discussion about an X duct taped on the carpet that we were supposed to be standing on so we all shuffled huddled together to the right and got tickled.
I don't know which one of them it was but someone smelled wonderful!

I also wanted to tell about two things that happened in the photo room.
A bald man in a wheelchair was getting a group shot but he asked RB to step out. We saw why when he held up a sign that said "Bald is Beautiful."
It was so cute.
There was also a precious little girl with downs who wore her Starfleet uniform and vulcan ears all weekend. She was grinning every single time I saw her, obviously having the time of her life. When I went back later to get my pic, hers was st5b4ill on the table and I nearly cried. RP, RB and Ethan all had great big smiles on their faces and they were crowded in very close to her, each one with a hand on her. I'm surprised they got her whole grin in the picture.
The Q&A session with the three of them was very funny. The funniest was when someone asked about the most comical behind the scenes stuff. They all agreed it was the alien in NIGHT that they said looked like a giant turd! They called him the Captain's Log, asked him why he accepted such a beep roleit went on and on. The audience was rolling.
Picardo mentioned that Beltran did impressions and the audience encouraged him to do so. He did Kirk Douglas as Chakotay and the one line was something like 'Captain, you insufferable b*tch'. He also said that if a sequel to Night Of The Comet was being made, it was news to him. I thought that it was true, but if it is, he did not acknowledge it.
The costume contest was a lot of fun. There was a group of heckling Klingons in the back of the room which actually added to the fun.

The play 'Housecall' was very funny. Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo stood behind podiums and read from a script. EP was not in makeup (of course) but at one point I closed my eyes and listened and could 'see' them. Beltran was in the front row but didn't heckle even though at one point in the play Phillips referred to 5b4Chakotay as Chakotex!
Although the banquet immediately followed in the adjoining room, Phillips and Beltran didn't attend although their names were down on the seating assignments.
I was pretty upset about that. Anthony Montgomery was delightful. He kept his table in stitches all night. Picardo made rounds speaking to people at almost every table. He really gives his all at these things.
Seated next to me was the lady who had the winning bid on a script Picardo auctioned for Habitat For Humanity and she was on cloud 9! It was 'Endgame' and was signed by the entire cast. She said half the fun was writing a check to Robert Picardo.
My sister and I just happened to be coming through the lobby when Levar Burton arrived. He never ages! My husband had dared me to get him to autograph a picture as Kunta Kinte (sp) which I most certainly did not! Levar is such a super nice person.
I never saw Jolene Blalock but our tickets each included a pre-autographed picture. I had no interest in seeing her but stood in line to get the pictures which are promised to friends. I was 3rd in line and waited an hour. The two men in front of me had been waiting even longer, and this man just walks up to the front of the line. I waited for the two in front -

Pacifickarma is right. There is more to this story. I was a member of that fanclub for a few years. The truth is that her friend Barb who ran the fanclub, took the money of the members and ran off with it. The members paid money to become a member, but they didn't hear anything back. After a while also older members stopped receiving their magazine, even after paying for it. Robert did hear about all this and I am sure that this is what made him mad. I am sure that he cared about the fans and that he felt sorry that they were ripped off by Barb. Furthermore, it put him in a very bad light. There might even be more to the story I am not aware of. But as you can see there are two sides. Robert in this case is not the one to be blamed.

Barbara did not run off with any money and she sent out all the newsletters that were due to the members. She even ran fundraisers for him and Robert was very happy with all her work so don't go telling lies that she ran off with any money. Robert owes her one hell of an apology for his arrogance. Barb had another newsletter due to go out when he called her and chewed her out for things she was not behind. Stop lying about Barb and I am going to let her know what you have been saying about her. I've known Barb for many years and she was and still is a very honest person. The woman who ran Roxann's club stole the money from that club but Barb never stole anything from Robert or his club and where did she supposed to have run off to? She has a hubby and a daughter.
Robert was booking cons in Europe behind his agents back and he was the one making a111cll the long distant calls trying to track him down but Barb was accused of those calls. This info came right from his agent and he demanded an apology from Robert to Barb but she never got it and she never did a thing to hurt him and Barb is the only one who ran that club too. All but the last newsletter went out and the last one never made the printers due to the nasty phone calls she got from Robert. -

My interest is in clearing a friends name who is being called a thief when she never did a think to Robert but treat him with total respect. The last Christmas the club was around, Barb had sent Robert 2 large boxes of gifts from the club members and the only way she received these gifts is thru the newsletters that went out. The fan response to this idea was fantastic and when he got the boxes he called Barb and couldn't stop thanking her enough. He even suggested in a fun way he's like this to be done again next Christmas. Sadly there are a couple people out there and we more or less know who they are slandered Barb's name with Robert and he believed them. If a member didn't get a newsletter, blame the post office, not Barb and when one was late for what ever reason, she notifed the members it would be late and this was rare. Robert's agent was also behind part of this mess and that part was cleared up. Robert would call Barb at times and other times she would call him and they were on fantistic terms and then all hell broke loose and the calls that May she got were ones no one should ever get. What makes me mad is that fans out there have slandered her name not only with Robert but with other fans and I just want fans to know she did nothing to Robert but show deep kindness and respect and they were friends for 4 years. Her call came to me about this mess right before I was leaving for the Seatrek cruise and it was not something I needed to deal with at that time. I also had the chance to speck with fan members of other clubs when I was on that trip and a couple of the people who ran another club became suspects and the reason I say this is due to what I was told. They wanted to run the club their way and they were determined to take over at any cost. The cost was Barb's name being ruined.
I just went thru hell with the post office over a package from Ohio that never showed up after almost a month so the company replaced it and I had that about 10 days later. A friend of mine who works for the post office told me there is so much theft going on and sometimes things are just thrown to the side and forgotten about. She has seen it where she works and being a supervisor, she has had some things to deal with she wished never happened so if newsletters didn't make it, blame the post office not Barb. -

Wow! I thought this thread was about whether or not Robert is married and it has degenerated into this? Really, I highly doubt there is anyone visiting this message board, rabid fan or casually observer, who is at all interested in hearing you repeat this "tale" over and over again. There are three sides to every story - his, hers and the truth, which is typically somewhere in the middle in any "dispute". Since this did not happen directly to you it seems that you are only continuously bringing this up to feed some personal need to stir the proverbial pot regardless of your assertions you are "only clearing a friend's name". I would think it is well time to let this go. Any reasonable person would have done so by now.

I am sorry but Barb is being bad mouthed on other boards when she did nothing wrong and I am sick of it and so is she. Barb has decided to let me handle things since she is fed up with all the lies about her and that's all they are, lies. And yes it does affect me as well as her other friends when someone is being hu2000rt. Do you let your friends be hurt and just do nothing? I doubt it.

I'm not married either, but I'm not gay. I'm enjoying all the bees that visit my flower too much to settle down with one person, thank you very much VBG I also don't want children the way the world is, so filled with hate. Just because a person isn't married doesn't mean they're gay :rolleyes:

fraction of his work would have no doubt whatsoever that this gorgeous man is

Apparently anyone who thinks otherwise should re-examine their own sexuality.
Robert is one of the sexiest actors I have ever seen & it is an insult to him for this thread to have ever started!
I am watching over him and will defend him always!
