The Coast Guard thing is a new one on me, too, and I've known Tom since we were both 20. At the time, he was a student at U. of Missouri. I remember his working for Eastern Airlines, getting married in Feb. 1974 (not in 1976 like it says in the bio), got into modeling, and got his first acting job with One Life to Live, where he was Feb. 1975 to Apr. 1976. Off the set of that show, he didn't get along to well with Katherine Glass, the actress who played his love interest on the show and was good friends with Anthony Ponzini, whose character he didn't get along with on the show.

swwlu73-1, that is so nice of you to come on here and clear up some of these questions about Tom. I know all of us die hard fans appreciate that. I have loved him since The Big Chill and Eddie and the Cruisers. As young nurses we use to get together and watch The Big Chill, dance and maybe drink alittle Those were the good ole days. Tom has always seemed like the kind of guy that would be fun to hang out with. I can't wait for the release of several of his new movies this year. He's sure underrated as an actor.
Just tell me that he's really the man's man I think he is!!!!!!!!!!! -

Any contact I have with Tom now is very sporadic at best. I'm sure I'll see him when his son Patrick gets married next November, one day before his sister Allison's birthday. The last time I saw him was at Allison's wedding on June 8, 2005.

Do you need a date for the wedding? LOL just kidding. I couldn't resist that.
I joined Tom's myspace a couple of months ago and Patrick helps run that. He has lots of pics on there of himself. He looks somewhat like a younger Tom but he must resemble his Mother more. I've never seen a pic of her. Patrick is a very good looking young man.
I hope Tom continues to make movies for years to come. I read an interview and he said he wanted to retire to NY. I hope he meant in another 10 yrs. -
