Anybody else think Brian Blessed would make a good Doctor Who? I've got a friend who would love him to do it. I've heard he appeared in a episode many years ago, but so what? Colin Baker actually appeared in Doctor Who just before he took over from Peter Davison as a completely different character. He would be a powerful, authorative figure with his booming voice, possibly in a sailor's uniform like Captain Birdseye. With all this talk that David Tennant might quit, we could even start a petition. Much as I respect Robert Carlyle, I just can't see him as the Doctor and he probably won't take the role anyway. It probably end up going to someone unsuitable like a Russell T Davies poster boy. Any comment?

His father did live to 99 though!! But I tend to agree, they'll probably keep going with younger actors.

He already was in Doctor Who. Kinda weird if he suddenly became the Doctor.
