            No, he wanted to make more films and had some ideas. The problem was the studios weren't interested because his later films weren't making as much money as they liked. So he started to work on Broadway versions of his films.

              I guess because his last movie was panned by the critics. Too bad, because I saw Dracula again recently, and i thought it was hilarious. That Reinfield dude is one of his funniest characters.

                A great deal of his accomplishment is attributed to his late wife Anne Bancroft. She was the one who inspired him to press onward with many of his projects. I can't say for certain, only speculate, but I assume the reason he hasn't directed since then is that he doesn't have the kind of encouragement now that she gave him. Additionally, many of his friends have passed on as well, and the idea of directing again may bring up sad memories.
                His line of work is amazing, and he did a wonderful job. All of his movies were either successful or loved by fans.
