He did have a 'stache. Don't remember if he was wooden or not but then again he really didn't seem to have much speaking parts, just your bacic "Hi guys" type stuff.

Most of them had brown hair. I remember one of the charcarcters that was called bear or something that was tall, and I think the seargant was bretty tall.

Yeah, that was a really big mustache. I've been watching him recently on CHiPs on Me-TV and was surprised his role was bigger than he has said it was. He said that all he did was stand around in the background and say, "Way to go, Ponch!". But he actually had a bigger part than that.
