Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Michael Dorn

    edwardsft — 12 years ago(May 21, 2013 06:39 PM)

According to the Star Trek Into Darkness trivia page, Michael Dorn, who had played the Klingon Starfleet Lieutenant Worf, was contacted for a role during the start of filming, and was asked to play an officer. Eventually the filmmakers decided that "they didn't want to mix the old with the new" and cut him out.
    Can anyone confirm this?

        You didn't, because he wasn't.

I don't know for sure, but I think I hear him in one scene.
Just as Scotty is entering the space dock around Jupiter, around the 1:07:59 mark, a voice can be heard: "I need a welding team on the number one nacelle."
It sounds very much like Michael Dorn's voice.
