Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Minnie Driver

for winning an award for best actor for Titanic, her career took a nosedive. Good. I can't stand her. She is not a good actress and is just plain unattractive. She was actually the only weak link to Good Will Hunting:)

Not really understanding this post. She scoffed at Leonardo DiCaprio for winning a best actor award in Titanic?? What award was that? He wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for "Titanic"and he didn't win a Golden Globe for the movie either.

Sorry, it was for a MTV Movie award. Yes we all know those awards are bogus, but it was just disrespectful that she scoffed and made her "face" when she read out his name haha.

I just saw it, and I wouldn't say she did anything wrong; in fact, she smiled rather excitedly moments after announcing his name.

I agree she smiled after she read his name, she certainly didn't "scoff" as you say. I love Leonardo - great actor and Minnie is a great actress - love them both.. bud you are reading into much of what was there a simple "smile" that's it.

What I take from it is she obvs already knew he won and knew a video was going to come on, so she probably just thought it went straight to the video and so wasn't really "on" so to speak. and smiled b/c of all the cheers and excitement (or realized she was still on the screen lol)

Ironically had someone with similar features to Minnie actually been on the Titanic they could have saved it by using their gargantuan face to plug the hole.
