Not that I couldnt talk to her, since I can speak english (well, more or less), but its very curious why an US citizen would want to be german citizen, too ?

Wow,the previous 4 replies must be among the dumbest I have ever read. First off since her father was a German citizen at the time of her birth she automatically is a citizen of Germany and not since 2011 but rather since 1982 when she was born. She only probably applied for a German or EU passport in 2011 because there was no need for one previously.

I have been born in the USA and I am of
Indian origin
, so I am a US citizen by virtue of birth. I never got the opportunity for dual nationality, just I have a
PIO
card.
So that is why I raised the question.
