It was his choice to idolize Belushi but for me it lessens the idea he was an addict only because he had low self esteem and thought he was just the fat guy. I don't doubt he thought this way and it made things worse. I think he liked to have a good time and that included hardcore drugs.

He idolized the comedic legacy of belucci not his death Chris was dating a Victoria's Secret model for like 5 years before he passed away . He was an alcoholic who dabbled in drugs. But he actually died from atherosclerosis. He was an amazing person and to talk badly about someone you don't even know is unfair especially considering he is. It here to defend himself.

He died from a combination drugs overdose with heart problems as a contributing factor.
Another factor in his death, like it or not, was his obsession with John Belushi.
Chris was told by Belushi's peers he shouldn't imitate or idolise him. That John was harder edged than Chris was. That Chris could not handle the persons lifestyle he was trying to recreate. Hell, even Belushi could not handle it.
Chris used to tape his eyebrows up to do his Belushi impressions around the SNL offices for gods sake. I love Chris Farley but his fixation on John Belushi has been agreed by people who knew both men to have been extremely unhealthy.
