We got conned! Up to all the homework stuff I grudgingly put up with school but the homework made me actively hate everything about it.

I know kids were so friendly but later they came to school, in new places, and they went home and their mothers made them less beastly. They lost their dreams and got out of shape, pretty much, and dyed their blonde hair more and more.
