its so weird how everyone doesnt like DS9 and voyager but everyone loves TNG. TNG is so slow and kinda boring if you ask me. The other shows had so many more starshi5b4p battles and compelling storylines.
TNG is so much diplomacy. "oh this race is a jerk race and they are being jerks to another jerk race, the federation must intervene and solve the problems that we will make worse at first then solve it all in the last 5 mins!" Yah, that was quoted from the beginning of each star trek the next generation episode. -

Star Trek was never about Space Battles and Wars. Even TOS was more about peaceful solutions (shown in lots of episodes like A Taste of Armageddon and it's Anti-War message or Spectre of the Gun with the ending) and overall Star Trek was about the discovery of new civilizations.
Besides, TNG was a lot more like the original Star Trek idea Roddenberry had in mind (See The Cage for reference, NBC thought, it was too 'intellectual' for the average viewer, so they forced a change, that's also why they showed the episode The Man Trap first instead of original Pilot "Where no Man has gone before", because NBC thought they should start with a simple story, much action and a ending that is totaly not Star Trek.
Voyager is horrible, it has nothing to do with Star Trek but it you typical run-of-the-mill action Sci-Fi TV Show with simplified plots, crap actors and action for a target audience of 12-16 year olds (who also jerk off to Seven of Nine.
TNG may be too slow for the youth of today, who have ADHD and lack the intelligence to follow a plot that is more than "Alien in sight, kill it with fire" stupidity. But even for those idots are there action episodes in TNG that should make them happy, like the Die Hard rip-off "Starship Mine" -

there are a ton of boring TNG episodes and a lot of good ones.
The only real reason i could see that people hate on DS9 and voyager is because, like you said, it doesnt follow the star trek cannon very well. The acting was kind of cheesey too, but obviously it wasnt going to have the caliber of actors the first star trek show (as in first show in the star trek revamp).
The original star trek may not have had ship battles and whatnot, but i believe that was more of a budget issue. TOS didnt have much support.
I like how people assume that if TNG isnt their favourite, they are some kid with ADHD lol.
I found voyager the most entertaining out of the 3 shows even if the acting was cheesey and a lot of the mechanics on the show made no sense (why was tom in the medical bay when he flew the ship?).
I just found TNG to have a lot of episodes that were not that entertaining if you didnt know star trek very well or didnt follow the series religiously. It doesnt mean its in any way worse than voyager, just less entertaining. -

Stacy Haiduk from Seaquest. Of all the actors on that show, she seemed the one that would get noticed, by the somewhat sexist virtue of being hot, which is usually how it seems to work.
Though I also thought that of
Terry Farrell
, who is apparently difficult to work with, and Michelle Forbes. So I guess there's more to it. -

She still attends
Trek
conventions and have been told she is genuinely nice to the fans. But aside from that. she appears to have retired.
I still cannot get over the pic on her
IMDb
profile. Just
terrible
. LOL
