Becker without Reggie is less fun!

i think they should have explored the other characters more like reggie and jake, like outside of the diner. i don't think reggie's diner would work because well when the show finished it wasn't hers but it would have to of dealt with jake and becker partly. if it was a sitcom about her life kind of like becker or frasier i think it would be much better. thinking about it more it probably would work quite well because she's a former model so she would have all these celebrity/rich friends and some interesting friends and situations. mix her diner life with her behind the scenes celebrity/model life.

I feel the same way. It was deja vu on how I felt after she left DS9. The difference between Becker and DS9, is that season 7 of DS9 was still good without her. She was missed but there was enough story to keep going without Jadzia. Becker simply felt like there was something missing all together.
A few of Reggieless Becker episodes and I too quit watching. The chemistry between Danson and Nancy Travis was not there. -

Part of my problem with it is that I never have liked Nancy Travis in anything. I'm sure she has her own fans, but then, trying to "take Reggie's place" was just too much for her. Terry Farrell has something without even trying. Most other actors in that type of role try too hard to steal scenes. She has subtlety beyond compare. She was born with that!

ditto all the way around
unsure why but ms travis from ' 3 men & ' series w/ mr danson, ' married to the mob', ' so i married an axe murderer ' always turns in passable performances; however, lacked the chemistry generate substantial interest especially on a weekly program such as ' becker ' which was stellar w/ ' reggie ' and lack-luster without her
even on ds9, felt that her ' dax ' was pivotal to defining the captain & that without her, the set of characters and resultant storylines weakened
ironic that the same ' chutzpah ' which made ' becker ' successful w/viewers was perhaps reason why producers unceremoniously & unwisely released her
hopeful that all is well w/ms farrell whom i found enchanting as a blond, ambitious tv newsperson opposite paula marshall & doug bradley in hr III & didn't realize it was her until just reading her bio

i agree there is something about terry, i've never watched star trek, always thought it was terrible and still do (no offence to the fans) but i can watch the ones terry is in just because she's in them, i still struggle to stay on the channel during the scenes she isn't apart of but when she's there it's suddenly worth watching.

Yes, I agree with you, bobw, it's the give & take between Becker and anyone else on the show that's so funny. We're just saying Becker & Reggie's better than Becker & that other chick.

I just think, like most shows that bring in a romance, the story suffered with the romance between Becker and Kris. Becker and Reggie were great together; i.e., at each others throats! BTW, I got that Capone quote FROM the Becker Valentines Day episodecan you guess who said it???LOL!

It HAS to be Becker that would say that, of course, I think I actually remember, now that you mention it. Isn't it amazing that during primetime, we'd rather watch old Becker shows? And yes, if there was ever a show that did not need romance, Becker's it!! That's what was so GREAT about it, they all needed someone and were still looking, no matter what age they were! Anyone could relate!

I totally agree!! I wish there was a Becker and Fraiser channelthats all I'd watch. Both shows were/are brilliant!

Travis's character was very bland. It was as if they took Reggie and squeezed everything interesting out of her and they were left with Chris.
Reggie's backstory was part of what made her fun to watch former model but one with certain insecurities, her father's death and leaving her the restaurant, etc.
Chris kind of came in from nowhere and soon thereafter, she takes over the diner. She had a backstory as well but there just wasn't much to it.
I never was convinced that Becker and Chris would fall for each other. But Reggie's character had the a5b4dvantage of there being more episodes to show things unfold.
Travis was in a position to make a character work that was doomed from the beginning. I've also never been a big fan of hers but I'll cut her some slack in this case because no one could make this work. -

I agree. It wasn't as much fun when she left. I liked her perosnality, her body, her attitude, and the way she and becker would go at it. I truly think Terry Farrel is an underated actress and I was angry when producers fired her. Why?
