Phoebe Cates retired to raise her children.
she was pregnant during "Princess Carboo". she decided then and there to retire.
she owns and runs her own store in NYC. I don't know who has more or less come-back potential, but I doubt Phoebe wants to act now.
and I doubt Bridget does either.
Phoebe and Bridget are 49 now and I5b4 see Phoebe is very pretty and youthful looking still. she looks 37 to 39 to me, a good decade younger at least.
but still after such a long absence It would be hard for either to get suitable roles for them UNLESS they just want to act for something to do. and would just take any ol part! I don't see either of them caring enough to want to act.
I could be wrong about Bridget. but Phoebe has said she has no intentions of acting again. But again Meg Tilly said the same thing! and she is back in the game on the small screen. who knows! one must do what's best for them. -

Phoebe was actually an incredibly talented and underrated actress who could sing as well!

I'm not sure, but she seemed to have peaked somewhere around 1995. I wonder what she's been doing since she doesn't have kids with Danny Elfman. Sometimes actresses quit to raise families, but maybe she does have health problems.

She and Elfman DO have a kid, a son, about 10 years old.
