According to Corey Haim's cousin, it was the other way around: Corey Feldman was jealous of Haim.

Yeah, I could totally see Feldman being jealous of Haim. Personally, I always liked Haim better anyway.
I said it before, and I'll say it again: If anybody got the short end of the stick in Hollywood, it was Corey Haim.
And I think he may have realized that (which completely breaks my heart), but still he kept trying. I admit, I admire him for that, because I don't know if I could have done the same in his situation.
I think it's extremely insulting that completely narcissistic A-holes (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton) get multiple passes for screwing up the way they do! Sorry, Paris and Lindsay, but you are
      not
above the rest of the world, and should be as deserving of all the bad publicity, jail time, negativity, etc. as everyone else is when they mess up. In Corey's case, his problems made him into a pariah, and instead of giving him a pass, Hollywood turned its back on him completely! It makes me so sick!

i'm sure Feldman was jealous of him back when Haim was getting bigger roles (lost boys, license to drive, etc), but there's no way he stayed jealous of him over the past 25 years

Haim had numerous chances to get his life together and get off drugs. Maybe Hollywood turned its back on him but I believe each individual is ultimately responsible for the choices we make and their consequnces. It's almost like you want to give him a free pass and none of what happened to him was his own fault and doing.
Also, "only prescription meds"I got news for you, prescription meds can be and in some situations are, worse than street or illegal drugs. Haim being a perfect example of that
Oh yeah, the "maybe werent good for him" has to be the understatement of the year.
I actually think his managers, agents, etc., are the ones who did him no favors. Perfect example-the E True Hollywood story interview where he was zonked out of his mind and couldnt even speak. Where was his manager or personal assistant that day? Wasnt there at least one aide, assistant, friend etc., on the set that day who could have said there is no way he is doing the interview? They could have just said he was sick and unable to do the interviewsure, rumors would have gotten out that he was zonked out of his gord but at least it would not have been filmed. Its ultimately on him but I will admit he did not have people around him who were looking out for him.

No one forces someone to do drugs. There is something called personal responsibility. If I decide to drink myself to death, I'm not going to blame all the beer commercials on tv. It's my decision, Haim made his decision.

Which is a decision that started when he was only about 14 in his defense

What happened to him on the set of Lucas is what killed his career. That incident is what started his reckless behavior, and eventual downfall.

Stop blaming the drugs, blame the reason he took drugs.

Without a doubt.. THe talent, charm of this kid was phenomenal.. I mean he was such a great actor
God, wring out your panties, girlfriend. There's a world of difference btw a cute teenage heartthrob and a top-flight talent. Corey Haim - "an important star"? "a great actor"? PLEASE! On the basis of what? The last decent thing he did was The Lost Boys at age 16, 23 years before he died.
