maybe that's a better question.

Money and fame don't always bring you happiness, depression can be a bad thing.
^ Great answer. Things like this are nothing new. One of my favorite Westerns was
Lawman (1958)
. I noticed the lead female actress on it
Peggie Castle
died at age 45 in 1973 due to alcoholism. Actors both rich and poor are people just like anyone else w/ all of the attendant human failings.
It dates back even further such as the parable Jesus referenced in the prodigal son. He used his money to2000 buy friends and they drained him leaving him penniless- and friendless.

because drugs cost money and they make you feel good. anytime you take money that you didnt earn, it will come back to bite you. athletes and famous actors get bitten alot. so do upper management ceo's. these people will tell you they "earned" 20 million in a year, but they didnt really earn it. they "got" it. the postal worker earned 38 thousand last year. Noone "earned" 20 million ever. They are overpaid. The guilt of being overpaid sends them to drug use. strive for a life where you receive what you deserve and nothing more.

No they are not. They are paid well because many people appreciates what they do and are willing to give them their money for their art.
The same goes for business. Coca-cola makes a lot of money because a lot of people like to drink Coca-cola. So the owners and managers of The Coca-cola Company are paid well because they do a good job making sure people can have their cola. -

disagree. noone on earth has earned 20 million dollars. it is insulting to someone who delivers mail or cleans you garbage. the guy who owns coke doesne deserve 20 million dollars. noone does. and PSH doesnt deserve his oscar.

No, that's the market mechanism that pays them what they are worth in terms of popularity or perceived importance. That has nothing to say about how that individual thinks about what they have earned.
An actor suddenly being valued highly doesn't change the psychology of that actor in terms of their own self worth. Sudden changes in income can affect a person quite dramatically. I admire those that can take that change and stay sane, or grounded, or whatever you want to call it. Many don't.
I think it's true that you'd rather be wealthy and unhappy than poor and unhappy. But fame and recognition aren't the same. Any one who's earned good money and found it's simply amplified their vices, or allowed them to explore new vices, knows what I mean.
If you've lived a bit of life, you recognise that those who come upon wealth after years of very hard work and failure versus those that come upon it quickly handle these things quite differently. -

They can and have connection. Like I for instance can't do drugs. I have no money and I have no clue where to get drugs.
Pretend something pithy is here.

It's b/c they're BORED with their lives. Think about it. These ppl earn millions of dollars reading lines and what do they do with their money? They buy mansions and expensive furniture, stay in $1000/day hotel rooms, drive Lamborghinis, drink the most expensive martinis in the world, gamble playing poker, fly in private jets even though they lecture us about saving the planet, and things that we, the general public, desire. And once they run out of ideas of what to do with their money, they get very, very BORED!! So, they, therefore, do plenty of drugs and then pass out forever.

drugs release dopamine - which makes you feel GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! and everything else compared to that is, meh
also successful actors are usually incredibly sensitive perfectionists - it helps them escape an imperfect, non-understanding world. boosts their confidence, they have fragile egos.
I'm finally dandy with the me inside.
