Well, heroin is supposed to feel GREAT, probably especially for a high strung personvery mellow and sloooow and comforting. A deep feeling of relaxation, that all is warm and right with the world.
So it's the (low) high that's appealing to people. They don't plan on the pain, anxiety and names sea (can never spell word!) that accompany withdrawal once one is a regular uses.
I think it sounds DIVINE.though of course completely impracticalso, like almost everyone, have avoided it. Maybe when I'm 95 or something. : )

because deeply you want to die, but not something as brutal and definitive and quick as suicide, you only "hope" to die in the process, who knows ? this shoot or the newt one ?.
ALL other reasons are irrelevant and fantasies to cover your deep death wish you want to ignore.

Wasn't PSH always an addict, at one point or another? When he was younger he struggled with almost every kind of drug, I think heroin was just another notch on his post; certainly no worse than alcohol or cocaine.
I think he just lived life to a dangerously full extent and paid the ultimate price.

Id say you don't understand because you've never touched a drug in your life.

Sometimes I think that danger is part of the attraction for a lot of addicts. I think they are pretty self destructive people and I don't think it comes naturally to them to think 'be safe' and to avoid dangerous drugs. I took a class in subliminal suggestion in college and a lot of the advertisements for cigarettes and alcohol have images of skulls and the poison symbol hidden in them.
I am not making this up. Apparently some people are attracted by 'getting away with it' or whatever they are telling themselves.
It takes all kinds to make a world- I think people who endanger themselves regularly and get a thrill out of it are just as crazy, and we usually call them brave and exciting.Any high risk behavior is the same to me.theres something going on upstairs that just ain't right.
I think they all think they are large and in charge until, well, they're either dead or wishing they were.

"Sure, other people get addicted to it, but it won't happen to me!" I'm guessing most of them think this way in the beginning.
