May he Rest in Peace he was one of those actors you could watch play different parts in film/tv shows back to back and not even realise it was the same actor.
There's no point of being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes. -

I just found out, this is terrible. We are losing all the great actors. John Hurt was one of my favorites. I wrote to him some years ago, he send me back an autographed photo with a personalized message, it was so cool for him to do that. Have it framed on my living room. Rest in Peace, I'll always cherish your work

Deepest sympathies to his family. May the great actor John Hurt rest in peace. He'll be missed by me and anyone who admired great acting. He was one of the greats.

R.I.P. to John, one of the most prodigiously gifted actors in history. I had a bad feeling when he withdrew from the Branagh production of "The Caretaker", but then he'd racked up so many projects that I wondered if his story had really had a happy ending, after all. Sadly, it wasn't the case. Met him by chance in Leicester Square in October 2014; I will always keep a fond memory of this. A very nice gentleman.

Yes John was truly a fine actor. I'm glad you met him and he was a very nice gentleman. I most remember rather fondly as John Merrick5b4 aka the Elephant Man in the "The Elephant Man" film
