No kidding it's not just the main photo, but almost all the photos from Sal's youth. They look like the same person, at least in still photographs. :0

I too saw a resemblence to Ralph Macchio. They just showed the Gene Krupa story movie on TV and Ralph Macchio was announced as one of the dancers on the Dancing with the Stars show in a couple of weeks on ABC TV.

I was just about to post this "Rebel without a Cause was on the other night and I couldn't help but be reminded of how much Ralph Macchio looks like Sal Mineo did. Ralph Macchio could play Sal Mineo in a movie about Sal or someone that he knew".

I'd say it's Ralph Maccio whb68o looks like him.
I would too, but this being IMDb (and the "internet") people get all butt-hurt when you try to correct them. In this day in age when "Your" is substituted for "You Are" and when "Ironic" is used instead of saying something like "coincidence" eh, I give up. Either the education system sucks, or some folks don't give a sh!t (or both), not sure when I'll stop giving a sh!t though

You are wrong. It is not more correct to say RM looks like SM than to say SM looks like RM. "Looks like" is commutative: if A is simila2000r to B, then B is similar to A. Either way is equally valid.
And in fact, the OP's way is actually more correct: if A is more familiar to me than B, then actually it is more correct to say that "B looks like A", even if B is older than A.
And I know that you won't be butt-hurt at my attempt to correct you.

I agree that there is some resemblance, but I don't see as much as others here do. Perhaps it's because I'm older and Sal's looks were set in my mind, long before I ever saw Ralph Macchio. I remember watching Rebel Without a Cause on TV, when I was a little girl, back in the 50s. I always was a sucker for big brown eyes and dark coloring like his!

Oh, it's there. In fact, the older Mineo got, the more he looked like Macchio. I was watching a '70s interview with Sal and was trying to figure out who he kept reminding me of and it was Ralph.
Sal looks just like Macchio here:
