I caught this film on TV last year.
He was so good, I didn't know who he was, until the credits rolled.
THAT is the mark of a good actor.
    RIP.

That was undoubtedly his best movie. If I didn't know that voice from other movies I wouldn't have recognized him either.

Not sure how he's unrecognizable, but that's my favorite O'Toole movie as well.

"The Lion in Winter" had an incredible score by the late John Barry, who also did the early James Bond scores.
RIP Peter O'Toole and John Barry.

That's one of my all time favorite films period. He looked just like himself to me.

That is my favorite role that he played. Second, IMO, was Lawrence of Arabia.

O'Toole should have won the Best Actor Oscar for this film - instead of losing out to Cliff Robertson for "Charly".

I have always maintained this was his best performance and the film he should have been Oscarred for.

I'm not sure how anyone could not have instantly recognized O'Toole here, if for nothing else than his voice!
Agreed that Cliff Robertson was gifted the Oscar, certainly O'Toole deserved it far more, but that happened to him over and over with the Academy.
