come on frank, we all know you like to direct but look at your track record. The only movie i see on your directing resume that was good was little shop of horrors. Give directing a rest frank and come back to your first love puppeteering. It would bring back the muppets. I hateb68 the new guy who does all the voices for fozzie and piggy. Please Frank get out of the directing chair!!

Hey, give Frank a break! He doesn't want to do puppeteering anymore, so the best thing to do is respect his decisions. After all, he is a human being with a life like everyone else.
Puppeteering was not really his first love anyway. In a recent interview, he said the following:
"There were a lot of reasons. One was that I was a dad, I have four kids. The reason was that I was constantly asked to do stuff. And also, I had done this for 30 years, and I had never wanted to be a puppeteer in the first place. I wanted to be a journalist, and really what I wanted to do was direct theatre and direct movies.
So it was a slow progression, working with Jim, but I felt limited. As an actor and a performer, you feel limited because you're not the source for the creation, and I wanted to be the source. I wanted to be the guy and2000 show my view of the world. And if I screw it up, then I screw it up, but at least I tried.
And as a director, what you're really showing is you're showing the audience your view of the world. I don't know why, but I thought I say things a certain way, and I wanted to express myself. I've always enjoyed, more than anything else, bringing things to life, whether it be characters or actors in a scene or moments in movies. I've done so much with puppets, that I've wanted to work with actors."
And, IMO, the new performers for Frank's characters are brilliant and have been doing a great job of keeping his characters alive.

Death at a Funeral, What About Bob?, and Bowfinger were fantastic movies. He is a great director, buddy.

His movies are awesome, he is an excellent director and I have enjoyed every movie that he's directed. Nobody likes to be pigeon-holed; he made his contribution to puppeteering and now he is doing other things.
              Reality is subjective.
