As much as I like Dolly, I've always wondered a couple of things ever since I first saw her.
I grew up watching her & admiring her. I was somewhat upset at the fact that she had breast implants. As I'd been envious of her figure and she was SO well-loved for it I assumed it was real. Many people still seem surprised at them not being real. I just thought it kind of odd, and yes a little shabby, that she's basically famous for a set of breast implants!
The other thing I wonder is: Why does she wear a wig? Has anyone ever seen what her real hair looks like?

Not in MY mind. But as I grew up, I heard seemingly endless talk about her breasts.
Even Johnny Carson had said he'd pay good money to have one look under there.
Of course she is famous for her singing. But let's face it, the first thing people talk about is her boobs unfortunately.
How can I be sexist? Dolly & I are both females, silly.

She is the epitamy of professionalism and class that is for sure. To have years and years of nothing but boob jokes, talks, references and one liners has put her in a class of her own as far as professionalism and light-heartedness.
Now, having said thatas a red-blooded male..back in the the day when she was at her peak with "9 to 5" and "Best Little Whorehouse" she was at her most sexiest and gave the aura of pure womanhood to a lot of youngsters like me.

I've always thought she was very beautiful. I don't care that she had implants, or that she wears a wig. She's a down to earth woman and kind and caring, and that's what's always mattered. I've always thought she is a good role model for girls because of what's inside (which is a good heart).

That's not 2000why she's famous, but notice the double- standard when it comes to other women who have had implants,and not nearly as large as Parton's. The notion is supposedly that Parton is exempt from the same criticism that other women receive. -

Dolly did not always have breast Implants people! She is quite busty/large on her 1970 Dolly shows on tv. Not saying for sure that implants were not used in the 70's , but they were not popular/safe as today. Dolly admits to getting the implants in the late eighties after losing all that weight. She felt she had lost her "image". Google pics of her young. She was quite a naturally busty gal!

Was to small, and I never read of her complaining about back pain. If you have a large chest it can be very painful for most people. As for the wig, well most performers wear wigs. It's very hard to keep your hair looking perfect under the hot lights. Dolly's hair was just too perfect for it not to be a wig. -

So if she got her inplants in the late 80s, your assertion is wrong. Parton was famous long before then, thus plastic breasts are not her main feature of fame.
