Many years ago, I read the infamous SPLIT IMAGE bio of Anthony Perkins, put out in the 1990s after he died
Alot of the stuff is so sensational, one wonders how much of it is true, considering that he cites to many anonymous, unnamed sources
One particularly disturbing claim is that back in 1957 when Perkins was in Southeast Asia filming THIS ANGRY AGE aka THE SEA WALL, that he was having sex with a bunch of teenage boys. Pretty shocking, if true
Another claim is that he picked up male prostitutes in the late 1960s, who advertised their services in newspapers as "artists models" -

Probably not much. Heard many of his fr5b4iends and family who interviewed for the book regretted it since everything was twisted and taken out of context. You might as well have the national enquirer write his biography.

I would take it with a grain of salt since it's an unauthorized biography. I wish Anthony's sons could write a memoir about him just to see what he was really like and combat some of the rumors/speculations that came after his death.

The source of the latter story for the book, is the unnamed male prostitute himself
He claims that in 1969, he advertised himself in the newspaper as an "artist's model", which I guess back then, people understood to mean that he was offering sexual services
The guy alleges that he came to Perkins' NYC apartment and was so shocked to see Perkins as the customer, as no one suspected that he was gay, that he was unable to sexually perform f5b4or him. But eventually, Perkins made him at ease and they "did it"
The biography is rife with all sorts of other incidents that may or may not have occurred, between the early 1950s and about 1982, involving Perkins' alleged escapades, some of which supposedly took place after he married his wife in 1973 -

Not only does the Perkins biography come off as sensationalistic but it's also one-sided. There were plenty of people who found Perkins likable and charming, but not in this book.
It's also a very negative book. The biographer simply does not like his subject.
