I have a friend that gets her hair braided every other week It is very hard on the scalp. She won't do box braids anymore because she has a square on her head where it got ripped out in a car door. That could be the cause of her hair loss as well.

I also thought that myself. It might not be growing out as strong and tough as it used to though. Jada may believe keeping her head shaved, may in fact strengthen it up when she does attempt to grow it out again.
