I live in the same town has Donald Pleasence did (the only famous man to come out of Worksop) I think he used to live on the same street as I do I've asked around but no one can be sure of it. The best film I can say is Buried Alive but the Halloween's will always be the best one's.

If you want to love Donald even more and at the same time become a Columbo fan. The columbo episode/movie "Any old Port in a Storm" is simply wonderful. Donald's performance is such a joy to watch. ahhhhh, its my favorite.

Yeah Im gonna have to agree that this man was a first rate actor. Any actor who can make me believe that a 5'7 man could go toe to toe with Michael Meyer's and WIN certainly is a good actor. He didn't get the credit he deserves. I wish more people realized how good of an actor he truly was.

Since no one has mentioned it yet, and it is one of my favourite films and favourite roles with him in it, I'll suggest
Escape From New York
. His portrayal of the hostage-taken President of the United States is pitch-perfect, never bowing the the B-movie status of the film. He plays terrified, vengeful and aloof all in one role and seems completely realistic throughout. Such a great actor no matter what material he was given. -

He was a last-minute casting replacement for Blofeld in You Only Like Twice.
In the following Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the role of Blofeld had evolved to being much more physical in presence. Although I think Pleasence was the best Blofeld actor, it is hard to see him as a physical threat to Bond as Telly Savalas was. I can't imagine Pleasence's Blofeld skiing after Bond or smitten by Bond's future wife Tracey.
Another more pleausible reason is that OHMSS director Peter Hunt didn't care much for Pleasence's portrayal in You Only Like Twice. -

Take a look at DRACULA (the 1979 version), Donald gives a solid performance.

If you can actually locate a copy of it (it's only been released on VHS) then try Night Of The Generals.
SPOILERS! Pleasence's charcter is initially set-up to be hinted towards the villain (he must be the villain, after all he's bald!) but of the three generals turns out to be the one with any redeming qualities - namely a conscience. -

I agree, he was the one who held all of the Halloween Movies together, even after JLC moved on, he still continued as Dr. Loomis. By far the best/strongest actor of the entire series. Even though Jamie was the Scream Queen, he was the back bone of this franchise. May he Rest In Peace.
