Oh look at those fake smiles!
Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

I believe they were just happy to be on TV. The anticipation of going on a date with a pretty girl might have added to their excitement.
This show aired in the mid 1960s. It was a game show, in case you didn't know.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

That's not an excuse. A fake smile is still a fake smile

Her point was their smiles weren't fake.
Why so miserable all the time? Do you eat a bowl of **** soaked in piss each morning for breakfast?

I have often wondered why. I think that you may have hit the nail on the head.

Quite disgusting I know, but asking him who pissed in his cornflakes didn't quite seem enough in his case.

I wonder if he knows who John Ritter was. It was fun to see him as a young student who was just starting out in his career. That was mostly the whole point of this thread.
Leave it to Lara to piss all over it.

Gone far too soon, may he RIP.
A very young Burt Reynolds was on the dating game as well.

I really liked him back then. He was a favorite when he was a regular on Gunsmoke.
It's fun looking back at these actors before they became big stars.
Since you brought up Burt, here's an old flame of his…

John Ritter has always annoyed me. He is fake. But the guy in the middle is a complete hideous dweeb. The guy on the left has a dorky sexuality I find interesting though.
Croft has a point about fake smiles. It is a tv show and of course they're hamming it up.

There are some people who irritate us. I get that.
When it comes to contestents on game shows, I assume that they are all encouraged to amp up the enthusiasm for the audience and the people at home. Prizes are at stake as well.
