Am I the only one who thinks he's hot?

Okay, don't jump all over me John Sayles's fans. I know how everyone takes this man and his work very seriously, but I have to say the man is downright sexy. although he is over twenty years my senior I find him irrestible by the way he carries himself with such class. He also has that hot lumberjack thing going on with his height and big body.

I'm right there with youI'm an entirely heterosexual guy, but I got the chance to chat with Sayles at a Philly event a few years back, and the guy oozes charisma. On a related note, New Jersey is my personal meccaany state that produces both Sayles and Springsteen must be prayed to three times a day, if you ask me.

Oh, I'm with you too. I love and have loved his movies for years. And I also think he is very good looking. Tall, handsome, rugged looking. And brilliant! And he's aged well too, though he really should button his shirts up a bit more!

LOL he does have a "brawny man" thing going on; doesn't help that he wears plaid all the time. He has traditional good looks. And he has that sexy lisp as well haha. Also it seems like he doesn't take himself all that seriously and that's a good thing in anyone but especially someone as gifted as he is.

Not at all!
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with his work, and I must confess I got here just by coincidence, while browsing Mary Steenburgen's photo gallery, and I just couldn't believe how gorgeous he is. Now I finally have somebody whose picture I can show whenever I'm asked how my ideal man looks

I totally agree! I'm not as young as you but I'm also twenty plus years his junior, and I would be with him in a second, if my beautiful and wonderful husband wasn't in the picture.
I saw John in person years ago in NYC at the City of University of New York Graduate Center for a panel discussion with the author Barbara Kingsolver. He's even more handsome and larger in life in person. He caught me staring at him and held my eyes for several seconds. I couldn't breathe for those few moments. He's very sexy and has an air of mystery to him. I could have met him afterwards but was too nervous because my attraction to him would have been so obvious. Although, I think it was already obvious when he caught me staring at him. Maggie Renzi is a lucky lady. LOL! -

LOL!!! Well, unfortunately, I don't think your husband would be too happy about it, so you better stay by his side
And I think you're a very lucky lady, too, for having seen John in person at least once. I can perfectly understand your reaction and nervousness by the chance of meeting him afterwards, because it happens the same to me whenever I have to be near to a very handsome man who also happens to have something "extra" (great personality, intelligence or that "air of mystery"). I usually feel quite intimidated and can't help blushing and sweating a lot, and it normally becomes a very embarrasing situation that I choose to avoid most times. The "bright side" is that all those qualities habitually are not altogether in a same man, then I don't have to worry much about it.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with the super-handsome John. Nice to meet another huge fan!

My dear, don't mistake few answers for little interest (I think most people don't spend that much time on imdb). He's dreeeeeeaaaaaaamy, and I'm sure that loads of people think so. I've had a lil crush on him since the early '80s, as he was making a name for himself.
I echo what everyone else has said he has great features, and his brains + talent + humility are just sigh I think I'd have a crush on him even if he were not-gorgeous.
Thanks 1354for the thread; it's fun to see what others think.
