It's funny how your signature is meant to show off how optomistic you arewhile you go to a dead man's message board and diss his music for no apparent reason. I guess consistency, lame sarcastic wit, and tact were all being handed out on the same day, but you refused to leave the lame sarcastic wit stand.

Anyway, I have the right to diss any music I don't 1c84like. We live in a free country haven't you picked up the first amendment lecture in your Government class this afternoon?
BTW, my signature wasn't intended to imply I am "optomistic" in any way. The meaning is rather different. It is better to light the candle of understanding than to curse ignorance. In other words, we should help others see to what they cannot, old Chinese proverb I belive.

I have heard of "sarcasm", and it doesn't pertain to that situation at all. I seem to remember the word "irony" as well, which is what you are talking about.

While most useful Philosophy is left open to a wide array of interpretation, that particular proverb's meaning is crystal clear. It carries the same message as the Western "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"; that is to say "Don't sit on your ass and moan about a problem you are having, get up, assess the situation, and immediately takes steps to properly fix it.". It conveys a message of optomism, hope, and perseverance. I definitely see where you are going with the enlightenment aspect, but the intended meaning it is not.
