Come on, what is wrong with him?
When I first saw ultron, I swear I did not know it was him. Until that distinct head tilt he always did when he was talking seriously to other characters, I began to suspect this was none other than James Spader!
He was doing it all the time in the blacklist. I had no problem with that, maybe it was how his character style should be doing in the series. But bringing that to the avengers?? I mean, come on Are there any robots out there that is talking with a head tilt?? -

Gee, I have not seen any robots that have artificial intelligence so I can't really tell you if they tilt their heads or not. Besides, Spader just provides the voice. If Ultron is doing the head tilt that was someone else's decision.

how else would you figure out that James Spader was playing the character?
That unmistakable honey-drip of a voice, perhaps? But I love the head tilt and pretty much everything about James Motherbleepin' Spader! (Okay, his actual middle name is Todd, but)

Bats are not actually blind, but, anyway, I have heard someone say this before, but why would that make him tilt his head? Besides, i haven't specifically watched for it, but I bet he does it when he has his glasses on, too. It's just a mannerism. Everyone has them and that's one of his.

Dear guy, I've watched every James Spader thing there is. And just after Boston Legal Spader declined. His Robert California, his role on "Race", his WN Bilbo on "Lincoln", Raymond Reddington it's all the same guy. Head tilts, penguin posture, mouth twitches. He's not acting. There is no emotion to him anymore. It's pathetic. And that guy used to be my favorite actor, ever.

May be dull for you, but I still see great acting. He uses so much facial expression, his eyes, and of course his tremendous line reading whenever he actsyou sir are obsessing with the head tilt and missing everything else that is going on.
