Not at all! He's been directing for years, and said recently he was trying to do more of it and less acting. In the meantime, yes - at least we still get to see him in front of the camera in Caprica! Hope hope hope they will pick up a second season.

Saw pics of it floating some three weeks before (I'm a big fan of the show ever since the pilot!) Saw the whole episode just this afternoon and it's one of my favorite episodes so far! Eric did a wonderful job as director but still hoping we still get to see him on the screen.

Well, I can understand you being surprised
If I hadn't read he had directed some episodes of series like Grey's Anatomy, I would have had to do a double check too when the credits came on.
But because I watch Caprica, I knew he has some experience directing - as he has directed 2 episodes of that show so far. I gather he's interes5b4ted in directing more and more in the future, so it's natural that he'll get more involved in the projects he's already acting in. That he worked on Glee was just a bonus for me because I just love that show!
I really like him as an actor, though(!) And so I hope he won't give up on acting completely..
I carry your heart; I carry it in my heart. -

Here's an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the "Glee" episode Eric directed:

Seems like the cast members adore Eric as director so hopefully he gets to direct an episode again. I love how he brought out the best in every one! -

LOVED his Glee episode. It was my favorite since 2.3 ("Grilled Cheesus"). Some Glee episodes are good, some are really, really awkward, but some of them are fall so wonderfully together and address something so relevant, interesting, or just plain fun that it makes me realize why I'm so hooked on the show. Thanks, Eric Stoltz! I had no idea who you were before, but I'll keep my eye out for your name in the future.

I have loved ALL the episodes he's directed, here's a behind the scenes little film that they did for the season premiere, and Eric Stoltz is all over it, wearing a suit no less.

And he also did my favorite ever music video from the show;

I'm new to being on boards and think my posts accidentally got deleted (probably by me!!) but I just wanted to say that this never occured to me and now I'm going to have to watch all of Glee because Eric Stolz directed my favorite episode of Caprica ever!!!
I am a new found fan and can't wait to watch all the things that he's done. Also just read that he was on a show called MADE IN JERSEAY that he also directed but sadly it hasn't come to the UK yet.
