Has anyone met Lea? She's not friendly to fans.

Man, what a messed up place your head must be in, Diplo. "Someone was a jerk to me. Obviously it was my fault somehowI just have to find out HOW." Some people are just evil. Not connected to anything going on around them at the time, just the way they are by nature. Personally, I think she's still steamed about that "Howard the Duck" fiasco.

I think I saw her Sunday July 6 ath the mall in Sherman Oaks. She was with a girl about 16-18 years old. No one recognized her.She just walked to a table, sat down and didn't look around. I was looking at her walking and she just walked byno expression. Looked like anyone else in the mall. Hair was brown, unbrushedno makeup.

Screw that mess. People always make excuses for celebrities. If people were making me a lot of money. I would show some respect even if I'm sick, tired, etc. Being a celebrity looks like a easy job. If you don't want to be bothered then don't go in out in public. But being a well known person(politician, celebrity, etc) you should give your A game every time you go out in public to maintain a positive image.

Maybe she doesn't want to deal with fans everyday but he did say that it was an event so I think she should have assumed that was going to happen.
Copy and paste this into your signature if you cried during the series finale of Alias. -

It's amazing she has fans left at all. Howard The Duck should have killed off any hope of gaining any new fans. She can act snobby all she wants but if her career keeps going the way it is, she will be begging to sign autographs.

That's why I dont believe in meeting my idols. Id be so dissappointed if I met a pop star or an actor who I admired and they were total jerks. I heard some of my heroes that I havent met Ive heard are total jerks contrary to their perceived personas. That would be a big letdown.
I used to drive for a limo company and I was always picking up celebs at the airport or taking them to NYC. You'd be surprised whose nice and whose an ass. While most are very cool, some of them are just plain stuck up and obessessed with their own self-importance and only like being around other celebs or influential people . Others just dont like public attention. I was surprised to find that Eugene Levy is not particulaly friendly. -

I agree. I was an agent in the 90's when she was actually looking for work (before CITC) and she was very condesending and rude to my staff. Although I was a big fan of her BTTF work, the HTD stuff did not impress me and I told her as much. She is a very good actress, yet I did not see her for what I was casting. As far as treating her fans with such disrespect, that would be her right. Although, as anyone in this industry knows, when you go to Hallmark or PAX movies, that pretty much sums up your popularity index. All I have to say ..is good luck to her.

I actually live pretty close to where Lea has a beach house in NY. One of my friends recently went to her house, knocked on the door and asked for an autograph. She was actually very excited as well as courteous, gave him the autograph and chatted for a while. So from my second-hand experience with her, she is a nice person.

I've only heard wonderful things about Lea from people that have met her. They have ALL said she is very nice and is happy to sign autographs. In fact, there is an autograph collectors magazine I used to buy (can't remember the name of it now) and they even said she was one of the nicest celebrities when it comes to giving autographs!

I work in TV in L.A. and everyone I've ever heard mention having to deal w/ her has a nasty story to tell. A friend interviewed her for something and Leah looked at her "like she was a piece of beep until the cameras were turned on.

Most of this thread is total BS. I am NOT a Lea Thompson fan, but I met her about 3 times in 2000 when she was living in NYC, starring in "Cabaret" on Brodway. Each time I met her she was very friendly and accomodating. She signed autographs and posed for pictures with anyone who asked.
I did notice, however, that she did not wish to have conversations with her fans. The last time I met her I asked her what was her favorite movie that she'd appeared in. She rolled her eyes (as though the very question annoyed her) and said in a very dismissive way, "Oh I don't know Back to the Future."
