Apparently, you don't have the guts to accept due criticism. Your reply is that of an intellectual fake, and you count on your readership to accept it. Guess what. We don't.

She IS looking like a bag of bollox though, Scarey almost. In the context of this show she's probably the ugliest thing I've ever seen, Charlie is hidden totally when she sits on him!

I realize she has been stricken with this horrible disease, but man oh man, the bubble has burst and there's nothing there but a monster!
I tell you one thing, if I know she's in something I will avoid seeing her in it.
Wow, what an incredible lack of empathy for an actress just because she dares to age and not be a sex symbol anymore.
        Really
        ? She's a "
        monster
        ?"
Then in your replies you tell a poster they should commit suicide. Classy. Your abilities to empathize with others are evidently nill. Really sad.
I admire Turner as an actress and still do despite all she has suffered. And her lack of vanity in this period has impressed me tremendously in an HBO documentary I saw recently, her focus was that of a stage pro, all on the work, all on the students, and it was really amazing and cool.
So she's not 30 anymore or skinny or "hot." She's still got incredible charisma and can bring memorable characters to life. I salute her for her honesty and for her journey and talent, and wish her all the best.

        I keep thinking I'm a grownup, but I'm not.

I can't believe that a genuine, ballsy, extremely personal confession of this kind from a star is met with such bastard replies from so many people on here!
You all truly deserve some really bad real life kicks in the ass.
This woman has been inflicted with a horrible illness and all you can do is make fun of her or even just say how ugly she is (not even "become").
I am so grateful that she has the audacity to show her face and body in public, let alone on camera, and grace the few of us who appreciate a consummate actress, with her legendary charisma, wit, great voice and simply presence.
Thank you Miss Turner, there are people who love you and appreciate all you have and are still doing and hope you keep on getting acting jobs.

            Thanks for your reply.
I'm glad others see the incredible courage and lack of vanity in Ms. Turner that she continues to perform, work, and to cheerfully subject herself to these kinds of opinions despite the fact that she is no longer (1) young, (2) thin or (3) hot.
Her stint as a mentor on HBO to young actors is very much worth watching, and she is as charismatic as ever, very confident and assured. It's great to see her out there like this.

            I keep thinking I'm a grownup, but I'm not.

LOL I just read that whole dissertation, and I have one thing to say. beep What a bunch of nonsense.
Get a friggin nose job Kathleen, you could drive a Mack truck up that thing, and go to the gym. 60 is the new 40 so deal with it.

Thanks for the info on the arthritis. I watched Kathleen on Watch What Happens Live last night and knew that her change in appearance was more than just getting older and gaining weight. Her wit and charm were definitely shining through. Thankfully some of us appreciate people for more than their looks.

I watched The Perfect Family tonight on TV and thought that her weight gain and change of appearance had to do with an illness and medication. Shame that alcohol and steroids for her arthritis took such a toll on her health and appearance. It's a disabling disease that is unbelievably painful. I have athritis in my thumbs and at times want to scream because of the discomfort. I can't imagine dealing with an extreme case. Arthritis meds can weaken the heart muscle and can be fatal. I hope she finds other ways to manage her pain.

Thanks for this info. I just watched "Romancing the Stone" on TV, and wondered who this beautiful, talented actress was, and why I hadn't heard of her. My grandmother had terrible arthritis, and I pray that I don't have to suffer through that. I'm glad to see that Kathleen Turner is still acting, and I will watch more of her movies.
