He needs more dramatic roles

His role in True Detective is somewhat unsuspectingly great and I will even admit that although the Psycho remake was so-so not as terrible as most would say, he pulled it off. He seems to have been typecast as quick-witted comedic actor but he does have ability and I hope that this casting in True Detective will open more doors for him in this route.

Came here to post just that. Couldn't agree more. Although, he has done more dramatic roles in the past than I thought he did. I only thought it was a couple of films but it was actually quite a handful. Still, that's in the past; I wonder if TD will open any doors to those doubting him.

I agree. I surely hope so because he has done some before, he was been typecast-ed in only performing comedic roles. I was shocked when I heard he was going to be in True Detective. I was excited as well because I knew he could pull it off. It is16d0 just like people giving Ben Affleck beep about being the new Batman. I think he will do wonderfully and truly exceed everyone's expectations because even though he has done some small amount of beep films, he has also done some very well done films.
