He really is. I caught this movie maybe 5 years ago on Starz. It was late one night and I thought, "Oh, a vampire movie I haven't seen," so I turned it on and was intrigued by the black and white, but it was slow moving. Then, Walken showed up with this part and I was pulled in enough to finish it. His character here is so mysterious, his purpose so vague, and Walken just runs with it and creates the most memorable part of the movie, imho.

, oh, my mistake. I thought we had spoken of this one once upon a time. It's artsy and maybe tries too hard to be philosophical, but it's an interesting, lesser known vampire movie in case you should be looking for something to watch some night.

Christopher Walken never disappoints me. He is superb in everything he does.
You noticed that too? I think it's about time the Academy Awards honors him with the Cecil B DeMille Lifetime Achievement award. -

Thanks for the link… Is this a realistic horror?

You're welcome. I wouldn't even really call it a horror. A lot of people seem to see the vampirism of the film as an allegory for substance abuse with philosophical musings on the nature of sin. In that respect, I wouldn't call it realistic, but it's not one of those out there, over-the-top vampire films either.
If you check it out, let us know what you think.

Annabella Sciorra is in that movie.
She's also in The Kitchen. Her part is very small but memorable at least for me. I've been her fan since she was in Jungle Fever. It was nice seeing her again. I hardly recognized her at first because of how she's aged. Not even Annabella could save that movie. -

Yes. Well some of us were. I posted a thread with 2 videos attached about addiction. Very poignant and addresses something no one else has the understanding to do, which is "The First Day."
