Oh, heck no! I used to be one of those sun-worshippers, baking my skin out in the rays. I even went to tanning salons. What an idiot. I'd slather on the tanning oil (which also had iodine in it which was nice because it made your tan look very brown and camouflaged the burning. I would tan very easily and get very dark.
Stopped doing this ages ago when I decided that skin cancer was something I'd rather avoid. I'm now photosensitive and don't react well to sunlight.

I've become photosensitive as well and develop red blotches on my skin when I sit in the sun too long.
I was going to ask you. You mention you wear long sleeve shirts even in summertime. Do you ever get hot wearing them around the house? Or do you run the air conditioning all the time?

Same happens to me. The red blotches, especially on my face.
Yes, I wear long sleeves in summer when I go outside. I wear short sleeves inside the house. I do keep the a/c running 24/7 because I tend to run hot.

Yeah I was trying to wear long sleeve shirts inside recently for a couple days. The same ones I wear during the winter and I just couldn't take it I was sweating every second LOL. There's only one black loose long sleeve shirt I can wear because I think it's so lightweight and loose. But the ones that are considered base layers that I bought to wear during winter as regular shirts that I wear around the house no way!

They also make SPF clothing that you can try for long-sleeved shirts.

Yes I have a couple of those. Good to wear if you go to the beach also.

I did the same in my twenties. Spent hours in the sun, and tanning salons as well. I'd get so dark that people would ask where I was from. Bain de Soleil orange gel used to get me incredibly brown. I don't think it's around anymore.
Like you, I got concerned about skin cancer. I'm lucky that I'm not wrinkled badly today.
These days, I can only take a few minutes of being out in the sun.

I can't believe I used to do this!
