Salma Hayek is a lesbian and Maria Conchita Alonso is not. Whis is fine! Maria Conchita Alonso needs some dental work and some plastic surgery and I only say that because I used to be a big fan of her. Maria you teeth are yellow please fix them.

1st. It's Salma, with a, no with e.
2nd Mara Conchita is the typical latin-beauty. Eyes, face, lips, body, hair.
For her age, she's so nice. (though she isn't natural) Salma has a little of lebanesa beauty, but she has a mexican beauty.
3rd Maria Conchita sings (well, she tries to) and Salma no.
4th Both aren't good actresses.
5th Salma is sexiest and (for5b4 me) most beautiful.
6th In the 80's Maria was a hit just in Latin America and Salma is a hit over the world.
7th Salma was the firs latin actress nominated for and Oscar for her leading role in Frida (won 2 of 6 nominations -a success here in Mexico-). Also she's a good film-directing (The Maldonado miracle) producer (Frida). Maria Conchita just is an actress and singer (again: she tries too)

The eyes (Maria) have it. Something in that look. Selma's got that square jawed boxer thing but other than that, the curves make up for it.
Overall (and showing my age) Charo beats them both hands down (but that's not to say I'd settle for 2nd or 3rd prize). Wonder how Kitten Natividad is going these days!!

I Hate when people do these stupid comparisons between TWO different human beings. Maria conchita has been an extraordinary actress BEFORE Salma was even in the picture. I remember Maria when she was the leading soap star in Latin America in early 80's, recording under the pseudo-name "Ambar", and leaving all that confort, fame and fortune behind her to try to make it in Hollywood..and SHE DID! that alone should be a motive of praise and respect. Remember, Maria Conchita came to Hollywood BEFORE the latino Explosion. There was NO Univision, Telemundo, Galafutura, Latin Grammy, Latin Emmy, Latin Billboard, or Magazines in Spanish (like People's en ESPAOL, etc) She did not have any of those tools to use in order to make a more solid name in this country (Salma came when the latinos had taken into the airwaves..Christina was the leading show in TV, J-lo was becoming an Icon, Ricky Martin was bringing La Vida Loca, Antonio Banderas was the latin Lover of movies, in summary, she found a more "friendly" Hollywood that the one Maria had to face in the 80's). Maria Conchita had no choice but rely on the same venues American actors were relying on (e.g: Jhonny Carson show, Jay Leno, the Grammys (not the latin ones but the American ones which by the way she was nominated 4 TIMES! pretty impressive for someone who "tries to sing," does not?) She earned rave reviews as 'Betty' in the movie "Caught" which lead her a Nomination for Best Actress at the Independent Movie Award. She was also the FIRST Latina (non-born in the US) to star on Broadway (The kiss of the spider woman)I do admire greatly what Salma has done, and she should be given the respect she deservesbut I have to say that some of her fans go too far sometimesas far as to trash (for no reason) another actress that has poured her heart and soul in this business when in fact they BOTH are frieds, they both look alike for the American audiences, they both have strong accents when speaking Englishthey both LATINAS! and there should be no stupid divisions among us! I personally know Maria Conchita and I can tell you what a great person and artist she ishumble, simple, sincere, upfront womanwho believes in her convictions more than anything! That's why she is involved in the production of a new movie called "Two Minutes of Hate" in which she will target the events of April 2002 in caracas(Venezuela) where "Chavistas" (Hugo Chavez's supporters) shot and killed peaceful protestersAs an Actor (and venezuelan) myself, I am DYING to get a part in that movieI've been talking to her lately about it thru emails and it appears that we'll meet sometime next year for auditionsI sure hope so!
For me, it'd be a dream to work for a movie that reflects my political philosophy while sharing my talent with such an Icon as Maria is

I would like to see both of them in the same movie. I think that they together would be a great hit.
Maybe they can be sisters or relatives. I dont know
I think Maria deserves better roles to prove the great actress she is. -

Maria was a Miss Venezuela , she was absolutely astonishing beautiful in her 20's and 30's .. even in her 40's Salma is beautiful and more voluptuous but i think back in those days Maria was prettier
About everything else i agree 100% with Carlos Leon isn't fair to make comparings Maria had way more difficult than Salma Maria open the the door for people like Salma, have a solid Hollywood carreer 25 years ago for a latin actress (coming from Latin America, not "latin" like the JLo's!) it was really a heroic deed.
it's ok if u think Salma is better but dont talk trash about Maria she deserves some respect. -

not a bad comparison, by generation of hot actors..
I always kept my eyes extra wide open, when she starred in that Grieco movie..so hoooooooot, attractive, without being too skinny, but suitable.
Come on, not everybody stays in good shapebut I wouldn't call her ugly, the way she looks now, remember lighting and so on, does have an effect on people, but don't know how she looks in person, though, which also varies from each person.
