Nice idea for a thread
1st ranking is by my personal taste:- Punch Drunk Love 10
- There Will be Blood 10
- The Master 10
- Magnolia 9.5
- Boogie Nights 9.5
- Inherent Vice 8
x) Hard Eight - only saw it once, back in the day. Liked it, but don't know it well enough to rank it
2nd ranking is by my perception/idea of "craftsmanship/technique": - There Will Be Blood 10
- Magnolia 10
- Boogie Nights 10
- The Master 10
- Inherent Vice 9
- Punch Drunk Love 9
x) Hard Eight - only saw it once, back in the day. Liked it, but don't know it well enough to rank it
Can't wait for his next

- There Will Be Blood - His magnum opus at the moment (10/10)
- The Master- Hopefully will be better received in the future. I love everything about this one (10/10
- Punch Drunk Love- The Weirdest movie he has made but somehow it works brilliantly (9/10)
4 )Boogie Nights- A classic but falters around the end before the fire cracker scene (9/10 - Magnolia- The most ambitious film of his career so far. Not all the story lines work as well as others imo but you can't deny his genius of storytelling. (8/10)
- Inherent Vice Not too sure how I feel about this one, I feel more Pychon than I do PTA and I'm sure that's the point but when compared to his original work I see better films. Who knows it might grow on me (7.5/10)
- Hard Eight- Direction is cinematography is spot on for a debut film but the plot is hazy and disjointed. (7/10)

Well, this is pretty obvious stuff, of course. The only two that are brushing up against each other at all are 'Boogie Nights' and 'Magnolia'. But on a thirty-point scale:
1: 'Punch-Drunk Love' - 30
2: 'There Will Be Blood' - 30
3: 'The Master' - 26
4: 'Inherent Vice' - 25
5: 'Boogie Nights' - 24
6: 'Magnolia' - 24
7: 'Sidney' - 14
That leaves Anderson with an average of 8.24 out of 10; the highest of any film-maker who's made more than three movies. -

I have a feeling Inherent Vice and The Master might move up the more I re-watch them. But for me, there's a pretty big gap between 3 and 4. I love those top 3.
