I can't really decide for one, so here is my list (in no order):

I love all of his films but I'm gonna have to go with the firecracker scene in Boogie Nights. To be more specific, Diggler's "Coming of Age" moment when he stares off into space as the sh_it's about to hit the fan
You mean Norman Bates Jr. is the baby daddy? -

Sidney: Opening establishing shot of gas station
Boogie Nights: New Years Eve tracking shot
Magnolia: William H. Macy's bar scene

There Will Be Blood: Plain View and son having dinner at Eli's house/or Ending
The Master- Any scene with Freddie- His most beautiful film.

On a purely visceral level the derrick fire is truly astonishing filmmaking but in terms of pure, layered perfection, I gotta go with the first processing scene from The Master.
Without dreams I would not want to live- Werner Herzog

Although there will be blood is my favourite PTA film, and essentially my favourite film ever, in terms of the best scene I would say it has to come out of Boogie Nightsthe opening scene of that movie is unbeatable!! and the Pool Party and New Year Party come very very close, any of these I could put as number 1!!

By each film in chronological order
Hard Eight: When Sydney waits for Jimmy to arrive
Boogie Nights: Opening scene
Magnolia: Frogs
Punch-Drunk Love: Barry breaking the glass
There Will Be Blood: Baptism scene
The Master: First processing scene
Overall
I'd have to go with a tie between TWBB's baptism and The Master's processing. Both of those moments had me stunned. -

There is no scene in the tons of movies that I've seen that has come close to replicating the feeling I had during the firecracker scene in Boogie Nights.

- Hard Eight - When Sidney goes to the casino alone.
- Boogie Nights - Fire cracker scene, that scene is intense.
- Magnolia - The scene in the bar, when "The Logical Song" plays.
- Punch-Drunk Love - Where Barry beats up the brothers.
- There Will Be Blood - The final scene.
- The Master - The scene at the party, where Dodd gets into an argument with John More.
I couldn't narrow it to5b4 one scene. So I picked from each movie.

scene with the phone-call-girl in punch drunk, watched that with my friend and we were both like "woah that's good" and since then it's hard to argue since it captures an entire world of feeling and loneliness in like two minutes, which probably points to the higher functions of cinema or some sh!t, but either way it's pretty moving
