Paul Thomas Anderson, Daniel Day-Lewis Eye Reunion on 1950s Fashion Drama
Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson may be assembling a big screen reunion, this time in the world of fashion.
Although no deal is set, sources tell Variety that Lewis is in talks to reunite with Anderson, who directed his Oscar-winning performance in There Will Be Blood, on the auteurs latest movie.
    Andersons reps declined to comment.
Sources say that Lewis, who hasnt made a film since Lincoln in 2012, has been loosely attached to the project for some time. Anderson is still working on a script while meeting young actresses of Eastern European descent to cast supporting roles.
Megan Ellisons Annapurna Pictures is producing and financing the untitled project. The film will be set in 1950s New York and revolve around the fashion industry, although the plot is under wraps.
Annapurna most recently worked with PTA on The Master and Inherent Vice.
Lewis, who won his third Academy Award for his performance as Honest Abe in Steven Spielbergs Lincoln, has kept a low-profile the past decade. Prior to Lincoln, the 59 year-old took a three-year break after Rob Marshalls Nine in 2009. He filmed PTAs There Will Be Blood before that in 2007.
Anderson has kept himself busy in recent years, directing music projects for Radiohead and Joanna Newsom and the music documentary Junun, about Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwoods travels to India.
No studio is currently attached to the project.

Get ready for another Oscar for DDA and another masterpiece of American cinema.

Should pair DDL with Joaquin Phoenix.

With PTA at the helm, you know a DDL + Joaquin pairing would be the ultimate acting clinic, studied by anyone and everyone serious about being an actor for ages to come.

I was just reading this 2012 interview, available on podcast at the link below, and started thinking it would be great if Anderson actually cast some of these actors below in this new Day-Lewis reunion. I wonder what other roles will be available in this next film
                        http://cigsandredvines.blogspot.ie/2012/10/interview-sirius-xm.html
                        MA:
Is there anyone out there right now when you're watching movies or TV shows that you're like, "I want to work with that person."
                        PTA:
Oh, god, sure. That's a long list. So many people.
                        MA:
Who'd be at the top of the list? Starting tomorrow. You get the perfect project. Who would you call up?
                        PTA:
Oh, god, let me just think. You know, De Niro.
                        Robert De Niro
would be amazing to work with.
                        Jim Carrey
would be amazing to work with. I'm thinking of
                        Charlize Theron
I think is dynamite. She's so great. I'm trying to think of some other names.
                        Jennifer Jason Leigh
's one of our great actresses. I haven't had a chance to work with her.
                        Michael Shannon
, do you guys know him? He's dynamite, too.

Here is also another list of actors that he apparently mentioned in an interview.
Five actors Paul Thomas Anderson wants to work with: Robert De Niro, Elle Fanning, Jack Nicholson, Toby Jones, Andy Serkis.
                          https://twitter.com/robbiereviews/status/535554424429891585
Given the fashion subject matter of the story, I could totally see him casting Elle Fanning for this movie.

Interesting! I'm sure there's a ton of actors who'd love the chance to work with Anderson during their careers.
