Definitely one of the top 5 horror directors of all time, my top 5 Dario Argento films are:

    1. Inferno
    2. Suspiria so close between the two, it changes often
    3. Phenomena
    4. Deep Red
    5. Opera

This is my personal top Five of Dario Argento

      1. Suspiria
      2. Phenomena
      3. Deep Red
      4. Tenebre
      5. Inferno
However I also have the least favorite here are in my opinion, Argento's top Five worst.
      6. Phantom of the Opera (1998)
      7. Sleepless
      8. Trauma
      9. Four Flies on Grey Velvet
      10. Opera

        Here are mine:

        1. Phenomena
        2. Deep Red
        3. The Cat o' Nine Tails
        4. Suspiria
        5. Trauma / Sleepless
This selection may seem kind of unusual to many of you (except for the first two titles, of course) but I just can't help it!
The only Argento movie that I don't like at all is the abysmal "Phantom of the Opera".
Sadly I haven't been able to see "Four Flies on Grey Velvet", yet. Hopefully it'll be put on DVD soon ("Anchor Bay" - please read this!!!)

I haven't seen many but Suspiria is definetly the best one.

                                    1 Suspiria
                                    2 Tenebrae
                                    3 sleepless
4 bird with the crystal plumage
                                    5 deep red
I have seen four flies on grey velvet, the film opens up in promising style but is generally slow moving and not Argento's best. Simular to 'bird with crystal plumage' I seem to remember but not as good. Just seen the card player, not made my mind up on that one yet.

                                      1. Profondo Rosso
                                      2. Inferno

                                      5. Il Gato A Nove Code
My list would go on like this:
                                      6. Opera
                                      7. Tenebre
                                      8. Trauma
I haven't seen the rest of his filmography, but I'm on it. I can't wait to see Phantom of the Opera. I want to see with my eyes if it's really THAT horrible. I have that one and Two Evil Eyes on tape, I'll watch them soon. I'm from Spain. There are only a couple of Argento's movies released here. I'm watching his filmography thanks to my local library that has some of his movies which were released on vhs many years ago, and also thanks to e-mule. I'm downloading 4 flies, bird, stendhal syndrome, etc Plus, there is a cable channel in Spain, "canal 18", that often plays Argento's movies (Deep Red, Phenomena, Two Evil Eyes, Phantom, etc).
Nada? Nada? Nada Da Da Da?!
