Can anyone recommend directors/movies that are similar to Argento?(experimenting with color, amazing steadicam shots, shots of details and creative kills in the horror/action/thriller genre)
PS: I've already seen Bava, Soavi and Fulci movies. -

Laurin (1989) - Simillar to "Suspiria" as it is a fairy tale for adults. Simillar color scheme and the final death scene is straight out of Argento
Santa Sangre (1989) - Produced by Argentos brother Claudio, this is Alejandro Jodorowskys answer to gialli. If you thought Argentos and Jodorowskys films were trippy enough, wait till you the two of them combined.
The theater is like a faithful wife. The film is the great adventure, the costly, exacting mistress -

Thanks for the suggestions, guys, I'll try to check these movies/directors out.
matheusmarchetti, I've seen Santa Sangre and it's one of my all time favorites, next to Suspiria. Anything else that you'd associate with these two?
Keep 'em coming. -

Of the top of my head I can think of the following Argento-esque movies:
Next of Kin (1984) - Not the Patrick Swayze movie! This is an underrated thriller that almost plays like an Australian giallo. The camerawork is beautiful, the atmosphere eerie, and there are some great twists as well. My only real complaint is that the film runs a little long after the big reveal.
Spider Labyrinth (1988) - This is a strange, obscure title. There aren't any recognizable names in the cast besides William Berger, and the director doesn't seem to have anything else of note in his filmography. It's a pretty cool movie, though. The visuals are reminiscent of Bava and Argento (with a pinch of Polanski), and the whole thing has a somewhat surreal, off-kilter atmosphere, though it's not quite as out there as Inferno or The Beyond. It gets pretty campy in spots but overall it's effectively spooky. The best part would have to be the Herrmann-esque soundtrack.
Hardware (1990) - This one isn't strictly a horror film but I think it will appeal to any fan of Argento. It's a post-apocalyptic killer robot by Richard Stanley, who's always been pretty vocal about his love for Italian horror. Stanley's direction is very stylish, the photography is colorful, and there are some very evocative sequences. Another highlight is William Hootkin's hilarious performance as the protagonist's disgusting stalker, Lincoln Weinberg Jr. Hardware is essential viewing.
A few others I'd recommend: Inside (2007), Dust Devil (1992), and Evil Dead Trap (1988). -
