I have been trying to find a 45 record Mr. Backus made in the 50's named "Delicious". It was a hilarious spoof of two people drinking champagne and laughing histerically. Very funny. Can't seem to find it. Any ideas? Thanks, Kathy

As for the 45 record, I honestly don't know, but the song itself can be found in the Dr Demento's 20th Anniversary collection, Disc One.

As a record collector and a DJ - I've been looking for it too. As soon as I come across it - I'll pass it along.

IMDB lists the female part as played by an unknown actress isn't it Phyllis Diller? It certainly sounds like her!

According the the Dr. Dememto compilation, it isn't Phyllis Diller. The people who put it together also stated they would also like to know who it is.

I remember being about 7 or 8 in Concord, California listening to "Delicious" at my friend Susie's house. We thought it was the funniest thing we ever heard [Jim Backus and "friend" get progressively plastered].
Anyway, 1c84Susie and i played it over and over and would be in hysterics. However, her mother, Fran, had enough. She broke the record in two & tossed it into the wastebasket.
                A very funny novelty record!

See it at you-tube.com under jim backus delicious. This is only one of his marvelous accomplishments in his long successful career. Many times I have wondered who played the most "B" parts in movies, Jim Backus or Alan Hale Sr.? I do miss both of them and enjoy pulling them up on You-tube. Did they ever have the pleasure of getting acquainted?
