Not quite!
Your parents first cousins would be your first cousins once removed and your kids first cousins twice removed. Children of you first cousin and you children would be second cousins. The children of second cousins would be third cousins and so forth. If you don't believe me, check those family tree sites and programs.
Example: My g-g-g-grandmother and Teddy Roosevelt were third cousins (her dad and Teddy's dad were second cousins) and so TR would be my third cousin five-times removed. The "removed" discerns the generational difference so TR is five generations from me. -

Well, FDR is also a distant relative of mine; however, that would not be admitted in my family at all.
Eleanor Roosevelt, was Teddy's neice, and married her fifth cousin, Franklin. Teddy actually gave the bride away at FDRs wedding. We all thought that was only done in Arkansas.
