I have to agree that Valerie could do better for herself than Eddie Van Halen. She deserves to be with someone who doesn't have a wild lifestyle and there are so many other worthy guys (like me lol) who would love to have a shot at her.

As of October 2001, Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli had been separated. They did not made it public until July 2002, two months after Eddie announced he defeated tongue cancer. Despite the separation, they are still married. There has never been any word about divorce. In my mind, I think they needed some space before they work things out.

"Made for each other?!" I was AMAZED when she chose that idiot to marry. I think Val's little Miss Goody Two Shoes routine was just that. I thought she had some class and would NEVER go for a wildassss like Ed. I can imagine how many years of her marriage she went through pure hell with that guy.

I was just thinking about them a couple of days ago. I thought they had divorced and I had somehow missed it. I didn't realize they had been separated for 4 years. Wow, time is really flying.

Valerie Bertinelli couldn't stand the drinking that eddie did
when she was pregant with wolfgang ( her son )
i can understand that can any of you understand that
valerie gave him a lot of options for him to quit the drinking
and the drugs also
but did eddie quit them no
so that is why valerie made her choice to divorce eddie
i'm happy and proud of valerie to be outta of that situation
who know's what could occard
eddie could of slap valerie in one of his rages
so i'm happy that valerie made her choice to divorce eddie
i'm sure valerie will find another man who doesn't drink or do drugs

It's NOT weak OR stupid to TRY to work on your marriage of many years when there is a child involved.
SOOO I was stating that I was "proud" of her hanging in there with Eddie AND his problems.
Obviously, she didn't divorce him right away.she gave him a LONG separation.
That was what I was referring to.
She is a role model for the women who don't really believe in divorce. I know she had stated in interviews that she didn't really believe in it either. This must have been VERY hard on her.

Yes, jescci, and it is morally wrong to raise a child in a home with drugs and alcohol abuse. It's damaging to the child, sometimes beyond repair.
